Saddens me a great deal that two members of the band, the guitarist, Steve Lomax, and Mark Harrington both died when very young. This along with other tracks were played live and recorded in the front room circa 1980. 
If we had been a Manchester band instead of from a town with zero reputation for bands, namely Crewe, I think we would have developed a following. I will be rerecording the vocals to this instrumental shortly.

Rosewither TakeOver — Soccerteas

The Duchamp Widows is a fictional post-punk/new wave ensemble conceived as part of a transmedia project within the universe of an upcoming novel. Imagined as a Manchester-based band formed in 1978 by art-school students Paul Hickey and Minerva Fernlund, the narrative expands with the addition of bassist Cyril Dehillerin and drummer Jasper Nemechek.

In the story world, their first self-produced EP, Plastic Thief, is released on 8 December 1979 through the independent imprint A Favorite Moment. Only 100 hand-numbered 12" vinyl copies exist, each adorned with cover art by the fictional conceptual painter Lucy Otter.

Crafted with the support of AI, this project pays homage to the era’s sonic and visual avant-garde: The Duchamp Widows’ imagined sound blends the abrasive edge of post-punk with the melodic sensibilities of new wave, capturing the restless creativity and rebellious spirit of late-70s Manchester.

Don't assume their music can't be as good as yours; burying your head in the sand might protect your ego, but it doesn't do much for your reputation!
