Now based in Berlin, Germany, Sentient Number Six is the darkpsy project of Matthew Martinez, who was born in Virginia, USA in 1992.

Heralding a fearsome coalescence of all things dark and psychedelic, his production style is characterized by deep, ominous basslines, immersive, layered atmospheres, and a sinister palette of organic and synthetic leads.

From eerie, textural forest, to grinding, industrial-edged darkpsy, Sentient Number Six's sound is as identifiable and exciting as it is unique. Bringing his wide and diverse influences to life with his sound design and production prowess, he crafts sonic journeys that blur the line between the natural and the mechanical, leading audiences into the furthest reaches of the psychedelic plane.

"This mix has a solid mix of old and new music, including both my own productions and collaborations with other producers. There are quite a few tracks that are finished but unreleased, as well as a few work-in-progress tracks that I just wanted to test out in the context of a full set. Normally when I play at parties, I like to play DJ sets that showcase a blend of my own music and collabs, as well as tracks from other artists and friends that I'm enjoying at the moment. But for this podcast mix, I decided to do more of a production showcase and only play my own music.
