What if sonic practice were not only artistic expression, but a mode of critical reflection — a way to generate knowledge about the positionality of both producer and listener?
To explore this, I invited the artists I interviewed to contribute sound samples — fragments from their production process — to build a collective sound “database.” With this samples gbw9, Melag0m, Kurzschluss, Mahée and HAUSVRAU produced soundpieces - which are released in the format of this compilation.
Here, sound is activated as a method: both a tool of knowledge and a relational medium. The resulting sample pack reflects diverse sonic practices and acts as a collaborative, affective archive.

Infestation as Sonic Resistance
I use the term infestation to describe how certain practices — deemed disruptive by dominant standards — disturb normative structures, much like weeds invading a manicured garden. Infestation stands for persistent, collective disruptions that challenge the status quo.
This concept ties into anti-capitalist modes of music production. By embracing collaboration, shared authorship, and relationality, the sample pack resists neoliberal values of individualism and competition. It becomes a sonic commons: a space for co-creation, not extraction.
INFESTATIONcan be thought of as a harmful seed, a seed that grows subtly, slowly. The sounds creep in sideways — rough edges, broken rhythms, distorted textures. Infestation is when sounds start growing in the cracks. Cultivated through collaboration, Infestation values disturbance, tension, connection, shared creation and finding new paths.
Some artists in this compilation are boycotting Spotify due to its investments in the arms industry. In solidarity, we are releasing the project exclusively via alternative platforms like SoundCloud and Bandcamp.

MYEN is the Berlin–Leipzig shapeshifter who’s been tearing through the underground like a sonic poltergeist, weaving ritualistic electronics, warped dubstep, and glitched-out fever dreams into tracks that hit like a séance gone rogue. His Bandcamp is a haunted archive of raw cuts like “TREPANATION” and “OOPHAGY,” all jagged strings, warped synths, and vocals that sound like they’re clawing their way out of the void. Later releases like KARNER and FOR FORNEUS have only deepened that ritual—bass hits like tomb doors slamming, hooks built from rusted steel, ambience stretched into cold liturgy.
Beyond the solo summons, MYEN’s discography pulses with cross-void pacts—his link-up with KAVARI on “Never Once” is straight-up iconic—we’re obsessed, a December 2024 gut-punch of brooding bass and vocal haunt that remaps club despair into something achingly eternal, later twisted further by Alice 4Ever’s RMX into neon-lit exorcism.

His work features original productions, edits, and reworks across house, techno, IDM, glitch, and all the infinite spaces in between. Fragmented sounds, carefully reconstructed — balancing instinct and architecture, emotion and abstraction.

Alessandro’s musical journey began with classical studies at the Conservatory, then split in two: One path devoted to composition and soundtracks, the other immersed in the night — where moQon takes shape.

Sakura is a DJ and producer from Bern. With her music she opens the gates to the realm of  dreams, painful and beautiful at once. She seeks to escape the meaning of life and to permeate the emotional essence of music in between soft atmospheres and dense punches. 
She offers dark, nocturnal and adventurous encounters that enlighten lonely hours.
Sakura is the organizer of Fleur de Lune, resident DJ at Gaskessel Bern, part of the Nebula party series at Kapitel and of the interdisciplinary duo Scorpia. She is also part of the gabber-hyperpop-hardcore-experimental collective Ace of Space.
She has played in Bern, Zürich, Lausanne, Geneva, in Germany and France.
