The start of the show is why we should not leave Nate and Huw alone on the pod.  Those two got into the randomness of sports teams and their names.  We dive into the Cheeto and the recent townhall and rallies this past weekend.  Who knew it was normal to dance in one place for 39 minutes. Nothing to see there as we dive into the prep for Halloween and the costumes that we need.  Somehow we found ourselves going on about Taylor Swift costumes into Vanessa Carlton and Trent Reznor. Didn't see that path in our trajectory at the start of recording.  Take an odd turn into celebrities and the idea of open marriages.  It's all in all an odd one today. A Profilaxia Pré-exposição (PrEP) é uma estratégia que envolve o uso de antirretrovirais combinados por pessoas que não têm o vírus HIV, mas que estão em situações de risco de exposição. Quando tomada regularmente, a PrEP é uma medida altamente eficaz em reduzir o risco de infecção pelo vírus. Essa prevenção é destinada a pessoas com 15 anos ou mais, que tenham peso corporal igual ou superior a 35 kg, que sejam sexualmente ativas e que vivenciam contextos de risco elevado para a infecção pelo vírus HIV.

egundo dados do Departamento de HIV, Aids, Tuberculose, Hepatites Virais e Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis (Dahti) do Ministério da Saúde, atualmente há cerca de mil serviços de saúde que ofertam PrEP em todo o país. Até março deste ano, cerca de 120 mil pessoas haviam tido acesso a pelo menos uma dispensa da profilaxia, sendo 91% delas em serviços públicos de saúde. 

Nesta semana, a Prefeitura de Belo Horizonte anunciou que a PrEP será ofertada nos 153 centros de saúde da capital, expandindo significativamente o serviço, antes restrito a cinco unidades de atenção especializada da rede do SUS em BH. No programa Conexões, da Rádio UFMG Educativa, nesta quinta-feira, 31 de outubro de 2024, o jornalista Hugo Rafael conversou com o médico infectologista Unaí Tupinambás, professor do Departamento de Clínica Médica da Faculdade de Medicina da UFMG, que abordou o aumento de atendimento nos centros de saúde de Belo Horizonte, a importância da Profilaxia Pré-Exposição, entre outros tópicos relacionados.
