God's Priorities_1_26_2025

The state of marriage in the United States is bleak. With only 50-60% of marriages lasting long-term, we can definitely see that doing marriage the world's way is not working. However, there is a different way to do marriage; one that will lead to a LASTING and LOVING marriage. God intended the marriage relationship to be the most fulfilling relationship on the planet. But if we want God's intention, we must learn to do marriage God's way. Join us as Pastor Jared unveils the importance of PRIORITIES in marriage.

It focuses upon two important moral distinctions that MacIntyre argues are  involved in developing "a capacity to become reflective about norms and goals".

It focuses upon his discussion of friendship, in which he distinguishes between the fullest sort of friendship, which involves an interpenetration of wills and which is valued for its own sake, and the more common sorts of friendship which are less lasting, don't involve the whole person, and are for the sake of some other goal

Michel de Montaigne, Essays - On Affectionate Relationships - Friendships

This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th century German philosopher, sociologist of knowledge, and phenomenologist, Max Scheler's work Ressentiment, which provides an interpretation of Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of that same name. It focuses on  the ways in which comparison and valuation between oneself and others figures into ressentiment. Scheler thinks that practically everyone engages in comparison with others, but the ways in which one compares oneself and values oneself is very different between the "noble" and "common" types of persons. The latter can also be divided into the arriviste type and the person of ressentiment
