For the past two decades Rígur Lárus, formerly known as Rui, has been exploring and finding the essence behind various straightforward genres. From Trance to Techno and everything in between. Always in search for that specific trance feeling and storytelling in music.

Growing up as the youngest of four siblings, he acquired a matured music taste rather quickly and this propelled him into the late 90’s trance scene. Highly inspired by the Magik Mix Series and the Innercity '99 CD by Tiësto he started mixing with vinyl. The storytelling in these mixes, to this day, is unheard of and still the foundation & inspiration for the music Rígur Lárus selects for his mixtapes today.

Timeless and ever effective melodies, found in various styles and blended into mixtapes with a heady sound palette is what distinguishes the sound of Rígur Lárus. Making it a crossover blend of various styles from older & new Progressive, Deep House to Melodic Techno. Discovered in different places and with that specific trance feel and emanating old sounds that marked him as a teenager. 

At one point Rígur Lárus took a three year hiatus to start selling vinyl as Troost Records, for the love of vinyl. Sending various House genres all over the world. Making people happy with the older sounds, because people really need to know where it all started, as part of music education.

The start of ‘17 he reignited his passion for making mixtapes for smaller audiences on Soundcloud. Aptly titled Make Mixtakes, always striving for the perfect blend with some raw edgy mixing. Rígur Lárus could never leave the unanswered feeling of passion for melodic music in the past. Therefore making him determined to be heard today with his unique quirky sound. An acquired taste.

Electronic District ist ein deutsches Techno-Label, das in der frühen 2000er Jahren gegründet wurde. 
Es steht für kompromisslose, elektronische Musik und ist tief in der Underground-Techno-Szene verwurzelt. 
Das Label wurde von Musikern und DJs ins Leben gerufen, die den Anspruch hatten, innovativen und unverfälschten Techno zu fördern, 
abseits des kommerziellen Mainstreams.

Mit einer Leidenschaft für harten Techno, insbesondere Schranz, war das Ziel von Electronic District ein Sublabel zu gründen für dessen Sound und eine Plattform für Künstler zu schaffen, die sich mit energiegeladenen und treibenden Beats identifizieren. 
Schon früh zeichnete sich das Label durch seine Förderung aufstrebender Talente aus, während es gleichzeitig mit etablierten Namen der Szene zusammenarbeitete.

Electronic District veröffentlichte zahlreiche Digital-Releases, die sich schnell in den Sets von DJs weltweit wiederfanden. 
Die Ästhetik des Labels war immer roh und direkt, genau wie die Musik, die sie veröffentlichten. 
Künstler, die unter dem Label veröffentlichten, stehen für einen unnachgiebigen und experimentellen Ansatz in der Techno-Musikproduktion.

Durch die Jahre hinweg etablierte sich Electronic District & Kopfschmerz als eine der zentralen Instanzen für Liebhaber des härteren Techno-Sounds. 
Es wurde nicht nur als Plattenlabel, sondern auch als Community für Techno-Fans bekannt, die sich für den ungeschliffenen und authentischen Techno begeistern. 
Die Releases und Compilations des Labels deckten dabei eine breite Palette von schnellem Schranz bis hin zu experimentelleren und industrielleren Klängen ab.

Zusätzlich zu den Veröffentlichungen organisierte das Label auch Events und Clubnächte in verschiedenen Städten Europas, die sich durch ihre intensive Atmosphäre und ihre treibenden Sets auszeichneten. 
Diese Veranstaltungen waren oft Magneten für Techno-Enthusiasten, die die rohe Energie der Underground-Szene erleben wollten.

Bis heute hat Electronic District & Kopfschmerz seinen Einfluss in der Techno-Welt behauptet und bleibt ein zentraler Bestandteil der europäischen Techno- und Schranz-Szene. 
Mit einer ungebrochenen Leidenschaft für elektronische Musik und einem klaren Fokus auf Authentizität haben die Labels einen festen Platz in der Geschichte des Techno.
