"Insula Island" is a poetic play on the Latin word "insula", a real region deep within the human brain responsible for self-awareness, body perception, and emotional balance.
The title hints at a mental escape: a peaceful inner island where the mind can rest, reset, and resist the chaos of modern overload.
The cover art visualizes this concept literally, turning the brain’s insular cortex into a tropical island at sunset.
It’s both a place in your head and out of this world. A surreal refuge.
Because sometimes, survival means retreating, and not to run away, but to stay sane.

“Nobody’s Groovy Anymore” is a sprawling seven-minute epic from Icelandic post-rock collective Laxá & Heima Kvartett, teetering on the edge of prog. The track builds from a foundation of shimmering guitars and insistent pizzicato strings, anchored by Bjarne Guðjohnsen’s thunderous dub-tinged basslines. There’s a restless energy in the shifting time signatures and layered instrumentation—Matthias Helguson’s drums drive the track forward while Mike Taylor’s keys offer both shimmer and shadow. The Heima Kvartett—Lisbeth Heima, Sif Árnadóttir, Natasha Guðmundsdóttir, and Ída Sigurðardóttir—pull the piece in and out of tension with sweeping strings and sudden stabs, making for a journey that feels both cinematic and deeply alive. The groove may be gone—but something stranger, wilder, and far more expansive has taken its place.

Klimakrise, Wohnungsnot, Inflation, Rechtsruck und Krieg sind reelle Bedrohungen mit denen wir individuell mehr oder weniger konfrontiert sind. Die Angst vor der Zukunft, der Verlust der Perspektiven und eine gewisse Hoffnungslosigkeit resultieren aus diesen Konfrontationen. Es fällt schwerer das Gute in der Menschheit zu sehen, weil es so viele Beweise für das Gegenteil gibt. Das führt zu einem Gefühl der Kontrolllosigkeit – man kann es ja eh nicht ändern, man Selbst ist doch viel zu klein.
Wir müssen arbeiten um uns eine Wohnung zu leisten, dessen Mietpreise immer höher werden. Essen kaufen, wobei die Packungen kleiner werden und die Preise steigen. Die Freizeit verbringen wir damit uns vom Beruf zu erholen. Durch Personalmangel, Leistungsdruck und Unsicherheit, benötigen wir dafür immer mehr Zeit. Die Zeit die wir eigentlich mit unserer Familie, unseren Freunden verbringen wollten fehlt. Hobbys und Leidenschaften stehen hinten an und unsere Selbstverwirklichung bleibt dadurch stehen.
Wir glauben, dass dadurch den Menschen eine unglaublich wichtige Fähigkeit verloren geht: der Überzeugung etwas verbessern und  verändern zu können, auch wenn es hoffnungslos und aussichtslos wirkt.
In diesem Sinne:

Delicate, crystalline, like bubbles caught mid-dream. 

The canals shimmer with the ghost of water, 
And the wind hums not with science, but with memory. 
But it’s when she sees the eyes—
Wide, amber, ancient eyes watching from the hills—
That she begins to understand.

The book was not fiction.
