This album is the result of a year of sonic exploration — the band drifting through twisting currents with the Milky Way as their compass. Recorded at Studio Recall in Pompignan, France by Philippe Gaillot and Marc Lalu, then mixed and mastered by Gaillot himself.

Hors-Champ is a boundary-pushing jazz-rock ensemble born from a creative spark that blends the energy of progressive rock with the freedom of jazz. Playful yet intense, the group stands out for its unpredictable character and raw spontaneity — a little sonic monster with a mind of its own.

Drawing inspiration from pioneers like Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Gong, Soft Machine, Magma, and Zao, Hors-Champ channels the adventurous spirit of the 1970s into a distinctly modern sound. Their music thrives on contrast: figurative themes evolve into improvised narratives, unstable atmospheres collide with cosmic soundscapes, and each performance unfolds like a journey into the unknown.

Defying conventions, Hors-Champ explores the spaces “off-screen” — where experimentation meets emotion, and where jazz dares to dream beyond its borders.

Un peu musicien depuis le milieu des années 80, j'ai eu mon propre groupe, RC710 jusqu'en 2000 (quelques titres sont d'ailleurs ressuscités sur Soundcloud et des vidéos en lien sur you Tube); je joue maintenant dans Bengal, mais fait de la MAO sur mes propres compos de différents styles; que je propose pour certains, ici aussi.
