Following up on the electroprog suite Magnetic Feel (2022), the parisian composer/bassist presents an incredibly short tune, featuring the return of his beloved Fender bass.

The Book of Gates is about RA sailing the Underworld, at night. This is a short version - only one of twelve hours is represented. The full 15mn version shall be released as "Le Livre des Portes" later this year. The cover depicts ATUM (the primordial Egyptian god - who created himself).

As an appetizer for the next full-length album, The Book of Gates mixes 80s polysynths, jittery rhythms and jazzy harmonies. A quasi-60s organ and a overdriven bass chase each other through a labyrinthine Canterburian counterpoint - all under the watchful eye of ATUM, RA and their merry friends and relatives.

The Book of Gates (short version) [alt master]

Features samples from The Weavers and the Bluegrass Country Folk (my grandpa was the lead singer with my grandma on back vocals). My mom also appears saying "That's pretty good". None of them are alive now, but hopefully they appreciate my attempt to immortalize them.

Also features the Doxology at the end. (I may separate this into its own track) 

Like the other two tracks, this one isn't totally finalized yet. As you can tell, I'm building a Christmas themed E.P. :-p

William is an eclectic, eccentric, and electronic musician from the NW Indiana/ Chicago-land area. William draws influence from a variety sources that include Downtempo, IDM, Ambient, Dream Pop, Lo-Fi, Trip Hop, Soundtrack, New Age, Video Games, Electronic Rock, Art Rock and Progressive Rock.

William came up from working class roots and still exists there, and yet, William’s music both transcends and embraces this history for better or worse. 

At times like an aging philosopher, at other’s belligerent and dumb. Either way, one thing William is not… is boring.
