Bought an Argon 8M. Super fun to tweak. Does pads like MicroQ and arps like Blofeld. So, two in one really... The bass is the almightly Deepmind. Drums from Proteus 2000.

Space Argon

Haven't made italo disco for a long time so I paused the rompler episode for a while and focused more on the 80's again.
My new wavetable synth pairs well with the more analog side of my gear so I combined Deepmind (square lead), Peak (bass) and Argon (arps, leads) into this dancy synth wavey tune. The Proteus 2000 does the orchestral mellow strings.
Some Linn 9000 and Simmons SDSV samples for drums and there you go. Enjoy!

Ticket To Ride

A little 90's house/gametronica track made entirely with sounds from my favorite rompler right now, the Proteus 2000 + the Techno and Beat rom cards. With the exception of delay and reverb coming from Valhalla though. I have started to use an SSL channel plugin on every channel with mild compression and some custom eq curve instead of separate plugins. Even so, the P2000 has that old vintage tone by it self, almost like an JV-1080 but still different, more airy and hi-fi, perhaps the output stage is more clean since its some years in between them. And again, thanks AI for title and illustration.

Nebula Percussion

Dreadbox Typhon and Emu Proteus 2000. Short nonsense track with emphasized arpeggios enhancing the melody. You might recognize the harmonies as the first bars in the title music for Double Dragon on the NES console.

Arpeggio Adventurer

Except for drums this is entirely the Proteus 2000 with some expansion cards (Techno, Beat, Peter Siedlaczek) with effects from Valhalla and Waves. The main silky pad was inspired from the track Aquatic Ambience in the SNES game Donkey Kong Country. I guess the Proteus 2K leads to a certain game soundtrack vibe and character.

Abandoned World Lament

A overly-sweet, partly catchy, nonsense ballade in E major featuring my Peak (main melody, lead, extra pad), Argon 8x (arps) and Proteus 2000 (strings, bass, crispy bell) synths. CR-78 drums from Ableton, plus a beat loop chopped up in Ableton Simpler slice mode and programmed by hand. But cannot keep fingers away from hardware for my tracks and the Peak has made a return into my setup now and then. Argon as master keyboard, Proteus serves orchestral samples from an expansion rom I bought for it.

Easter ballade

Short electronic track, more house than techno in edit 2, with some random stabs and lush pads together with a crisp 909 loop made from drum samples, all from the E-mu Proteus 2000 with some rom expansions, basically the Orbit 3 module. Big reverb from Valhalla Vintage reverb. Really love the Chaotic Hall algorithm. The vibraphone suffers from some bad aliasing but guess thats what too few sample points in the e-mu modules gives you when playing higher notes. Very 90's, getting nostalgic.

Some semi-avantgarde ambient jazz stuff with the Xtreme Lead and Beat Garden rom cards for my Proteus 2000 rompler. Effects from Valhalla. Drums programmed from a kit called Mantis. There is no limit to what fun you can come up with using these old Romplers. The sound is crisp and clear, not over the top. Hit the arpeggio and add some dirty delay. More fun than VA I would say as the sounds are very diverse and useful right away due to preprocessing thru all kinds of hot outboard. Illustration by DeepAI

Another one synth electro(nica) track with some play with the real time controllers of the Proteus 2000 showing its strange filters, whistling away. All sounds except drum break loops from the Proteus (composer, techno and xtream lead rom cards). Effects from Valhalla.

Yellow And Magic

Another upbeat 80's synth pop wave thingy featuring almost only Deepmind 12 aside from the melody in the verses (Proteus drenched in Ableton phaser effect). I really dig the cabinet speaker effects on arpeggios that the Deepmind brings to the table here. Delay, reverb and chorus from Deepmind and Valhalla. The chorusy moogy bass from the Deepmind is also an emerging favorite of mine.

GOJU RYU Masters

Ableton Live with a couple of va, analogs, fm, romplers and various hybrid synths via a MOTU 828x and of course vsts. Style includes all sorts of genres, I guess film and games is the theme. As long as it resonates in my head even if its sometimes only the gear talking. Anyway, thanks for listening.
