'Ol Lady' is a coming of age song which explores a child beginning to see through the thin and fragile veneer worn by a mother, viewing the vulnerable and uncertain person within.

Confronting oxymorons in his Mother's character and beliefs challenges their respect for a woman who's life philosophy had always been a rock and beacon. And naturally he is now reassessing his own foundations and beliefs.

A pop song at heart, the track's groove is propelled by a brooding bass and hip hop drum beat, with a ambience inspired by artists such as SAULT, Dijon and Klyne.
