Emma is a conductor, composer, and singer based in New York City. She is the Music Director of Philomusica Concert Choir, a 40-voice, auditioned choral ensemble, and a founding member of Triad: Boston’s Choral Collective, an organization made up of singers, composers, and conductors who share artistic responsibility and perform new music. Today, she sings, conducts, and composes with C4: the Choral Composer/Conductor Collective in NYC, the choir after which Triad was modeled. She also teaches private piano and voice lessons and sings soprano in the choir at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Times Square. Emma has most recently served as Choral Instructor at King School in Stamford, CT as well as Pre-K-8 Music Instructor at Horizons, Norwalk Community College, assistant conductor of Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Children’s Chorus for its 2020 production of Tchaikovsky’s Queen of Spades, and conductor at Chicago Sinai Congregation.

Emma’s compositions have been performed by Triad: Boston’s Choral Collective, Westminster Chapel Choir, Tufts Chamber Singers, and other college, synagogue, and church choirs from Boston to Los Angeles. As a vocalist, she has performed both solo and ensemble work in the Midwest and on the East Coast, including with St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Wilton, CT, Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Princeton Society of Musical Amateurs, and Hans Zimmer Live US Tour. She grew up singing with the Chicago Children’s Choir (now Uniting Voices Chicago), an organization born out of the Civil Rights Movement, dedicated to creating a better world through connecting singers of different backgrounds and experiences to create music. This worldview has shaped her as a musician today.

Emma holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Tufts University in Medford, MA.

For God's elect, who ought to desire to be obedient to God in His worship, there is but one path to follow in the new covenant, and that is the singing of the psalms, which comprises psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. My original hope in recording the psalms was to put the exact scripture to music (not metrical) and sing the psalms myself, composing and recording the music myself. I soon found that my singing voice was awful, and composing music to fit with the words from the scripture extremely difficult and time consuming. Therefore I changed tack and decided to narrate the scriptures over a suitable backing track located on the internet for free use. Being an Authorized Version man myself, I began using this particular version but, in the UK, many of our population have no history of Old English, and find it difficult. And so I took the tough decision to change to the Modern English Version 2014, which is one of the few modern versions to translate from the Received Text of the Bible, and truly is an Authorized Version in today's English. I am loving the psalms more and more, thanks to spending much time with them, and see in them so much that pertains to the new covenant, with all sorts of promises from the Lord, rebukes and conviction of sin, redemption in Christ, and daily experiences of His providential working. It is all found in the 150 psalms, along with joyful worship songs and musical accompaniment, even tambourines and dance! Care does have to be taken though, and much of what claims to be worship today is nothing more than entertainment, which thing is an abomination to the Almighty God. Indeed I would rather the church sang monotone psalms, than chopped up scriptures to fit a catchy tune, where after a while no-one cares about the words, it just becomes fun and gives a buzz to the carnal side of men, women and children. When this happens, God looks down on the hearts of men, and sees worship with the lips but their hearts are far from HIM! It is none other than hypocrisy! How many of us who profess Christianity need to think on this and repent if necessary, turning back to God, and seeking to follow the regulatory principle with a whole heart instead of just paying lip service to it.

Jared first picked up a guitar at the age of 11 and started playing on a regular basis for the past six years. His love for singing began while leading worship in Church. He is a singer songwriter and finished writing his first EP in 2015.  Songwriting provides him with a place to get away and connect with his fans.
