This tune is more bass oriented, I tried to create a light dreamy vibe but at the same time to keep it also bass heavy, I like this contrast.
It was mostly done while I was staying in Portugal, and was finalized in North California. 

I usually find it hard to name tunes, when u start a project and the session is done u need to save it and give it a name, so I usually go with the most intuitive thought that comes up after that first session, it might be a certain vibe or energy or a specific feeling during that session.
So this temporary, intuitive title usually is the seed for the final title, in this case it stayed all the way from the initial session until the end.
One of the official meanings of ‘Junk’ is ‘old or discarded material that considered useless or of little value’, a lot of ‘modern’ electronic music is sample based, most of the beats and many other elements are samples that being resampled, reused, processed, than resampled again and again, so if u hear the initial sample it might sound like ‘junk’ but after this resampling process it evolves and becomes something new, hopefully something with value, hence ‘BeatJunx’ :::)

Totems of Pangea- Nightshade @ Firefly 2025 (DNB Mix)

Start Again is the first track from the upcoming album Beastly Snoot, marking the debut album release from Select Username, a new alias from the artist behind Cookies Slayer. This track serves as a sonic bridge between two artistic worlds, transitioning from Cookies Slayer's signature Psytechno into Select Username's Drum & Bass.

This release also marks the beginning of a new chapter and launches the artist’s new label, 303 BPM.

Cookies Slayer is a Producer, DJ and Sound Editor/Designer for movies and video games based in Montpellier, France. His sound falls somewhere in between different genres, approaching music with a fresh, experimental twist. His sound blurs the lines between psytrance, down-tempo, experimental and ambient, going for a fresh and unique twist. He also incorporates other influences, including tribal, techno and even world music with an eastern flavor. Cookies Slayer loves to give his music a quirky, darker twist, often blending different genres to create an innovative and personal blend of sound. His productions are unique due to his approach of sound design, and the lush sonic textures that make the songs special and one-of-a-kind.

Wearin’ black clothes and bustin’ mad flows, YEG-based J-Sound brings that bass to the DnB faithful.
After winning Western Canada’s biggest DJ competition — the Pioneer Mix Master Battle — in 2010, he’s opened for dozens of top 100 DJs and dished out his signature sound to thousands.
A mainstay at The Womp festival, as well as part of NABDnB, he’s also a substitute teacher at Sunday School, lending light to the darkness with pulse-pounding drum and bass.
Drawing off influences ranging from k motionz and phibes to culture shock, J-Sound shares his creative light through music, dance and laughter, producing an ear-pleasing mix of dark, heavy and dangerous.

Nightshade emerged from the questionable liquids of the pre-social media NYC dance scene. Since then, she’s played everything from grimy warehouse basements to renegade forest raves to massive festivals, like Warped Tour, Burning Man, Love Parade, Firefly, Candyball, Whistle, Elements, Therapy, and Transformus- among other gloriously unhinged dancefloors.

Her guest mixes have been featured on DNB Radio, Kind Radio, Bass Movement, State of the Art, Newy Bass Crew Series (AUS), and Radio Ninja. Some of them even on purpose.

Unapologetically eclectic, her sets are a magnetic blend of sounds: deep drum & bass meets melodic instrumentals, woven together with heavy basslines, captivating vocals, and liquid grooves. 

Nightshade doesn’t color outside the lines, she just finds weirder crayons. Expect reckless dancefloor DNB… or a plot twist with a sly grin. She's dropped opera at outlaws, reworked showtunes at raves, shamelessly blended metal remixes with pop, and still believes that techstep and tribal trap could be friends. From anthemic rollers to deep cut oddities, her selections always land exactly where they should.

Officially Boston-based, unofficially wherever the sub-woofer calls. Still underground. Still unpredictable. Still ruining shoes in the best way possible.

I make psychedelic bass music. Ranging from psydub, to midtempo and up to drum and bass but always with that psychedelic feel. 

I've played at Masters of Puppets in Czech Republic, SUTI in Portugal, Mystic Sound in Goa and 5 Elements - Elevation in Wales. As well as hometurf festivals Triplicity, Chrysalids & The Wildthings, Existance and a regular at the legendary Tribe of Frog events.
