I am indeed finding if I bounce selection of a file that there appears to be some loss of what I would describe as the sheen of the original track. I am taking vocal comps, working in Variaudio then bounce selection to clean it up and remove the realtime processing of variaudio. I am hearing an audible quality loss although it is fairly subtle but noticeable. I also ran it through the spectrum analyzer and visually noticed it as well.
Any thoughts or ideas or are we stuck with the reality that bounce selection degrades audio?

Hey there, a friend of mine asked me to look after his laptop. He has issues with stuttering in cubase elements. The machine is plenty powerful (10th gen i7, GTX 1050 Ti, 2 SSDs) and nothing running in the background. Nonetheless it's sometimes even struggles to play the audio. The performance monitor shows constant high peak loads, but the Task Manager shows the machine is barely working at all. Depending on the project it only takes couple of effects to make this behaviour appear. Other times you can record three instruments at the same time with multiple effects applied no issue at all.


It is still in effect and deactivating asio-guard plugin by plugin in the manager also changes how an Instrument or an Effect sound. That means sound quality changes 2 times already in the program. First in the Device Setup option and 2nd in the Plug-in Manager option.


In a musical context, the problem is that no EQ, Compression, Saturation can bring up the 1024 buffer sized audio to that sound quality level where the 96 buffer sized audio is. They are simply two different sound quality.

Gameplay is mission-based as in the original, with 25 missions in total (12 in Miami, 13 in Nice). Goals include chasing cars, getting to a certain location within a time limit, protecting another character, evading police, taking part in shootouts, and much more. Many missions consist of multiple objectives that have to be accomplished. Between missions, the two cities can be freely explored, and several secrets and some extra challenges be found, including four different driving mini-games: Trailblazer (following a trail of traffic cones), Destruction (driving over a number of crates), Slalom (navigating between gates) and Checkpoint (racing between different points on the map).


Indeed, the appearance of around 70 different vehicles, including an 18 Wheeler, a motorbike (yes!), a fork lift, and all manner of cars from the city runaround to the sporty, gives you plenty of variety to get to grips with. Typically, Driv3r continues the grand tradition of having extra spongy exaggerated handling to guarantee that authentic '70s cop show feel of screeching rubber and flying debris as you powerslide through every corner. This isn't necessarily to everyone's taste, but it guarantees a certain level of comic carnage, with flying limbs and honking horns pretty much a given no matter where you are.


The graphics in the game are a mix of solid and slightly rough elements that don't impress us as much as we'd like. The computer-generated movies that tell the game's story feature impressively detailed high-res models that are appropriately gritty. As for the game itself, Reflections has put an impressive amount of work into modeling the cities you'll be tooling through, which is cool. You'll find detailed, expansive environments to race through in a car and similar interiors to run around when you're on foot. The downside is that the frame rate in our work-in-progress versions for both platforms fluctuated quite a bit during intense crashes. As mentioned, we're also not fans of the third-person camera when you're on foot, although you can thankfully switch to a first-person view when on foot or behind the wheel of a car. Finally, the environments feature sparse pedestrian and car populations, and there's quite a bit of repetition in the cars you'll see on the streets. As far as the breakdown between the two platforms goes, the PlayStation 2 is a little jaggier than it's Xbox cousin. While the Xbox does benefit from cleaner textures, the game isn't a huge leap over the PlayStation 2 in terms of graphical quality.


Based on what we played so far, if you're looking to Driver 3 to offer a new experience that takes the series to the next level, you may want to readjust your expectations some. If you're expecting a Grand Theft Auto-style makeover for the franchise, don't. Driver 3 offers a good dose of what the series is known for: challenging races, a stronger emphasis on storytelling, and some nice, extra play modes. However, while the selection of racing modes is fair enough, the overall experience feels a bit underwhelming at this point. The core single-player mode's gameplay doesn't stray too far from the game's PlayStation roots and winds up feeling dated. Copra meal is produced by expeller extracting or solvent extracting the oil from dried coconut kernels. Copra meal is sometimes referred to as coconut meal or coconut oil meal. Although its protein content is less than that of conventional ingredients commonly used as protein sources, copra meal represents the largest quantity of locally available feed protein in many tropical areas, such as countries in Central America, some African countries, and some countries in South East Asia. Variations in the nutrient composition of copra meal are mainly a function of the differences in residual oil concentration.


The quality of the protein in copra meal is less than that of soybean meal and palm kernel products with Lys only being 1.91 % of total crude protein (CP) and total indispensable AA being 33.92 % of total CP. However, one specific characteristic of copra protein is that it is high in Arg and Arg is almost 10 % of total CP and the Arg:Lys ratio is almost 5:1 (Table 3).


Copra meal and copra expellers may be included in diets fed to growing and finishing pigs by up to 30 % without affecting growth performance [22], but negative effects of increasing levels of copra meal in the diet have been reported [4, 14, 23]. However, Thorne et al. [3] demonstrated that copra meal can be used by up to 50 % in growing-finishing diets if diets are supplemented with synthetic AA or proteins with higher quality. Results with copra meal have been improved if diets either were semi-purified diets or if they were formulated based on digestible AA rather than based on crude protein [3].


The nutrient concentration of palm kernel meal and palm kernel expellers depends on the method of oil extraction, the species of the palm nut, and the amount of shell remaining in the meal [25]. Palm kernel expellers have a residual oil concentration of 6 to 8 %, whereas solvent-extracted meals contain 1 to 2 % residual oil (Table 1; [26, 27]). The concentration of crude fiber in palm kernel meal ranges between 7 and 20 % [28], depending on the amount of shells and fruit removed from the palm kernel. More than 81 % of the total carbohydrates in palm kernel meal are in the form of non-starch polysaccharides [29], mainly as β-(1,4)-D-mannans [30, 31]. However, water binding capacity in palm kernel meal and palm kernel expellers is less than in copra meal [7]. The Period Start commands get executed whenever a period change is detected. In All Day mode there is only one set, but time based and Sun based allow different commands at different periods of the day. In a lot of cases these are used to determine what camera settings to use or whether to enable motion detection, but they can be used for anything. So for example, a time lapse sequence could be started at the beginning of a period and terminated at the next period start.


v6 has a built in motion detection scheme. It is activated by selecting the motion detect mode under camera settings to be Internal. When this is done the original motion settings button disappears and a new Motion Settings accordion control appears on main page.


Normally motion detection is only active when motion detect is started up. A monitor mode can be selected which activates the base internal motion detection but does not generate triggers to the scheduler. When selected it will be active during normal recording or even when not recording providing video buffering is used.

The monitor mode will log stop and start events to the motionLog.txt file in the web folder (may be changed in raspimjpeg config file.
Motion detection will also trigger the macro motion_event.sh if set up (within /var/www/html/macros/)

A great use case for this mode is the ability to constantly record video all day, but still log motion detection. This is worth tying in with the Video Split setting to avoid having large video files. An example config is as follows:





motion.conf 
in the /etc/motion folder is read by motion to determine its operating characteristics. As motion is being used here in a failry simple mode of motion detection then many of its parameters are irrelevant. The primary ones of interest are those setting the motion detection characteristics like mask files, thresholds, noise levels. motion provides a web api to view and edit these settings and this is used by the motion.php page to show and allow altering the settings.


Motion Detection can be controlled at start up in 2 basic ways.

1) You can edit the /etc/raspimjpeg main config file and change motion_detection from false to true
2) You can configure the scheduler so that it has a period start command of md 1. The Period Start command will be executed when the raspberry starts up.

Method 2 is better in my view as it allows control if you have set up the Scheduler to have different periods. E.g. in Sun based mode you could choose to have motion detection only active during the Day (md 1 in Day Period Start and md 0 in other Period Starts). When the Raspberry boots then it will turn on motion detection if it starts in a Day period otherwise it would wait for the next Day period to start. If you don't want to split the Day up then you use All Day mode and put a md 1 in its one Period Start entry so the Raspberry always goes into motion detection no matter when it boots up.


If raspimjpeg is put into a capture mode (described below) then the flow of preview images is maintained but an extra recording is made of either a single image, a time lapse sequence of single images, or a full video recording which can be at any format the camera can support including HD normal frame rates. This data is stored in the media folder. For the images and tile lapse images these are stored directly in jpg format.
