Queer DJ born and raised in Nottingham but is now based in Manchester. He was first educated in underground music culture through the legendary Nottingham night Wigflex (@wigflex) and learned the importance of our community through attending various (queer) nights at The White Hotel. 

This mix is inspired by those nights, so Sebastien wanted to keep it club-focused. Here is a collection of some of my favourite tunes, some recent, some less recent, and some from before he was even born. As well as tracks from some of his favourite labels like @x-kalay, @common-ancestors, and @warningberlin. Given how much he enjoys these tunes, Sebastien really wanted to let the tracks speak for themselves.

The Why people dance question was asked for the first time in Lithuania back in 2013 but it gained a worldwide echo in its 8 years of existence. Run by @pauliuskamblevicius with the help of @experimentsserial and a network of collaborators, the online electronic music platform and label keeps its heart open for new friends and treasure finds but its filter tight and deep underground. Teknofag is a self proclaimed human anomaly. Fitting no particular mould, they are in a constant state of change, growing and flowing through sounds and emotions. With an eclectic range of tunes, Teknofag is sure to get you moving. Deep and emotional melodic house and techno sounds, right through to fun, humorous and playful tech house tunes, that is their polarity.
Teknofag can be seen playing regularly at clubs around Melbourne, and has graced the stages at POOF DOOF, Circus, New Guernica, Day Spa, My Aeon, and more. 

The origin of Teknofag’s name is an act of protest.  The act of protest towards those who used the word to weaponise against them in their past and present, to change their outlook into the future. A courageous act of standing tall and shouting “THIS IS WHO I AM, AND I’M SURE AS HELL PROUD TO BE ME”.

Teknofag has a background in the visual arts and a passion for fashion. They would spend countless nights a week within the four walls of a Melbourne nightclub, it was the perfect place for self expression. It is there that they discovered their love for electronic music, being moved physically and emotionally by the DJ’s and the journeys they took them on. The smiles they could not wipe off their face made them realise that they want to be able to bring joy to others through music as has been done to them.
Music is the best way to tell a story, share a moment and create memories.
