Written for flute quintet (4 x flute, 1 x piccolo). Combines elements of folk, 60s psychedelia and European classical, with a middle section inspired by Azerbaijani folksong melodies.

Les jours heureux reflète la variété des styles et les influences culturelles qui
cohabitent alors dans la capitale française, à l’aube d’un conflit qui traumatisera l’Europe et le monde entier et qui changera ensuite radicalement le paysage musical et culturel.
Les Jours Heureux est un projet musical créé à l’été 2022 qui revient aux origines de la formation du quintette instrumental, flûte, trio à cordes et harpe. Cette formation, est née dans le Paris des années folles à l’initiative de cinq musiciens qui ont su fédérer un myriade de compositeurs autour d’une nouvelle esthétique de la musique de chambre.

Les Orgues d´Illa is a wonder of nature in French Catalonia. Hills in the Pyrenees with massive natural organ pipes erodated through wind, sand and water. You can imagine that Gaudi got inspired by it for his La Sagrada Familia.

This song began on the last day of the cold January of this year, when Ken sat down at his piano and recorded an improvisational jam. This is the first song Eclectic Collective has done where Ken started it with a piano, so we were all very excited to work on it.
  Josh was the first one to add a part, adding his fretless bass guitar, and going back and forth with Ken, while he added the drums to match the groove up right. Josh also added the mandolin after the guitars were laid down, as well as the descending synth blasts you hear throughout. Before all that, though, Stephen recorded the first half of the thrilling guitar you hear in there. After Stephen had his part down, Tez came along and finished the guitar work in the second half. Last, but certainly not least, Mark added the amazing symphonic elements, specifically the horns and flute melody. He also added the cold January wind sound, created using his breath and some tinkling bells.
  Once it was all wrapped up, we asked Stephen to put a bow on it with his expert production, which he came through with, as always.
  As mentioned, this is an extraordinary offering from EC, staring Ken not only on drums, but on the keys, as well. It felt like we were jamming all together in the same room, and hope it comes across that way. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

This song started as a guitar composition Tez came up with while on holiday recently. He wrote it with Eclectic Collective in mind, inspired by ZZ Top, and shared it with the rest of us as soon as he was able to return home and record it.
Stephen was first to the trough with this one, adding his thrilling guitar fills and solo. Being from Texas, too, he's no stranger to Biily Gibbons. Mark came next with some synth, and later added some claps and shaker. Ken put his rocking drums in after Mark, laying the groundwork for the groove. Josh completed the rhythm section with his bass soon after, though. Mark decided early on that he was going to add some vocals to this, and Stephen had to adjust his part to suit them. We're all really happy with not only Mark's lyrics, but especially his vocal performance, as well. Eclectic Collective now has a go to member of the band who know's what he's doing with his voice.
Once it was in the can, Tez decided to mix it, as it was his song to begin with. He did his always expert job with the task, too.
This is an example of Eclectic Collective getting down and dirty for a rocker that has the flavor of all of us firing on all cylinders. Special attention to both Tez and Mark for their inspiring generosity and hard work in conceptualizing this one, too. We all hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Welcome to my page, my peers, associates, friends, and musical family. I'm a lifelong, multi-instrumentalist musician who records prolifically and joyfully. You'll hear me play guitar, bass (regular four string, and four and five string fretless), mandolin, banjo, keys (piano, organ, synth), lap slide, sitar, and sing on my recordings here. I've been in a few dozen bands in my life, playing everything from bluegrass, jazz, rock, jam band, reggae, funk, afrobeat, Middle Eastern, traditional Irish, singer/songwriter, pop/covers, to experimental/avant garde. 
  Since I found SoundCloud a couple years ago, I've found many talented, creative people with whom to create music. However, in the summer of '23 I formed a band called The Eclectic Collective with some of my favorite musicians I've met through here. It started as a loose collective of musicians and coalesced into a core group of musicians who find other musicians with whom we'd like to make music, then run their songs through our process, and in effect add a full band. That core of The Eclectic Collective includes Tez (Llanpsych), J.J. Terrel, Ken (K2 and the Three), Stephen (Texmex Shaman), Chris (cgmaness), and Mark (mistermark). A couple of other musicians are frequent collaborators, as well, including Artur of Surfers Like Us, and Steve Vervaet of Steve's World. 
  The magic of music is amplified exponentially by each person adding to it. So, we really try to add our sorcery all kinds of music from all kinds of artists. Sometimes, we keep it within the group, but a lot of what we do is collaboration with other artists. Therefore these days, 100% of what I do is collaboration, within the group or with other artists on the side.
  I, and we, are also available for hire if you have a song or lyrics and you really want to add bigger instrumentation or a band and good production to it.

I also really like and am influenced by traditional Iranian, Palestinian, Indian, Sri Lankan, Sudanese, Mauritian, Somalian, Egyptian, West African, and Syrian music. I welcome anyone who plays non-western music to contact me for a collaboration, too.
 I'm overjoyed to have found my community on SoundCloud. This is a truly unique forum where everyone is sincerely trying to build each other up. The profoundly supportive and positive SoundCloud community has really opened up an exciting new world of collaboration for me. That is the main reason I'm in the Cloud, actually, to connect with other musicians and make music that I enjoy listening to, and hopefully others do, as well. I am ALWAYS looking to collaborate with interesting musicians, mostly though BandLab, which is where I record almost exclusively. It's a solid, free digital audio workstation hub where you can share recording projects, even if it's not where you make your recordings.
  Everything I do is live instrumental, not programmed, and using no computer beyond my phone. That's not to say that I would be opposed to using that kind of tool, it's just not my preferred medium with which to paint. If you like my music, please share it. Hi I'm Theo! I specialise in creating cinematic and ambient music, while also offering versatility across a range of other genres.
When I'm not scoring films or crafting soundtracks, I love watching all types of films (though comedy and action are my favourite), or throwing punches in the MMA ring. Music's my addiction, and I'm hooked on the rush it gives me.

Anita Williams, a renowned Jazz singer from Ireland, has recently settled on the beautiful island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. Since her move, she has made a name for herself in the local jazz scene, forming The Anita Williams Quintet and hosting successful Jazz Brunches at venues like La Luna and Hacienda de Abajo.

Williams’ love for jazz started at 13 when she first heard Billie Holiday’s Lady in Satin. This passion led her to train with famed vocal coach Glynn Jones in London. Though initially pursuing a Broadway career, life took her back to Ireland where she balanced motherhood with jazz performances.

Her international career blossomed in Dubai, where she performed at prestigious venues like Burj Khalifa and Emirates Palace, and became a resident singer at Music Hall Dubai. During the pandemic, she completed her album SMILE and later moved to Thailand, where she headlined jazz festivals and weekly shows.

Now in La Palma, Williams is focused on making jazz accessible to all, energized by the revival of the genre and her collaboration with talented musicians worldwide.

Le Bateau Ivre est un quintette instrumental qui associe la flûte et la harpe au trio à cordes.
Ce mélange de timbres confère à l’ensemble une grande richesse sonore et lui permet d’obtenir des couleurs et des atmosphères extrêmement variées. 
L’aventure commence en septembre 2015 à Strasbourg, île au cœur de l’Europe, où se croisent les chemins de cinq jeunes musiciens. Ils se réunissent autour d’une oeuvre qui sera le noyau de leur formation, le quintette de Jean Cras.
L’interprétation de cette pièce est chaleureusement saluée par le jury du Concours International Léopold Bellan à Paris, qui attribue au Bateau Ivre le 1er prix d’honneur en Avril 2016.
L’aventure se poursuit par delà les frontières avec deux 3ème prix obtenus au concours Osaka IMC (Japon) en 2017 et au concours Virtuoso Bel Canto de Lucca (Italie) en 2018, année où le quintette est admis à l’unanimité en master de musique de chambre au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris dans la classe de Michel Moraguès. 
Ses musiciens reçoivent également les conseils et encouragements de Luc-Marie Aguera et Fabrice Pierre. 
En 2019, Le Bateau Ivre intègre le programme de musique de chambre européen ECMA.
Lauréat de la fondation Meyer, le quintette enregistrera son premier disque en juin 2020 au CNSMDP.
