"Life Is A Riddle" details a time when Steve Abbott befriended an eccentric elderly man with mental health issues who often interjected nonsensical phrases into our conversations. He found the man's quirks fascinating and inspiring, using them as the basis for the song. The song's lyrics are a mixture of these random phrases and his reflections on life's unpredictability, humour, and the need to embrace its complexities.

With no singing voice and only the barest guitar skills, I thought my songs would remain on the page. Then I discovered AI. Greetings, my name is John Heavern, I am a lyricist currently living in Charlotte, N.C. . I have lots of music demos, 14 of which are videos on youtube, link available here. Demos are Rock, Psychedelic, Alternative, Country, so far. MY influences: Roger Waters, Neil Peart, Jim Morrison, Freddie Mercury, ... mostly Rockers.
A special thanks to Roger Waters. While on leave from the U.S. Navy in 1982, I stayed up all night by myself at a friend's apartment and listened to every Pink Floyd album released at that time (my friend being a huge "Floyd" fan). I realized that Waters was writing poetry! It closely resembled a style of poetry I had dabbled in from time to time when life was getting me depressed. I began to structure my poetry to lyrical form. It sat for decades, but the style remained whenever I needed my emotional outlet. I'm certainly not comparing my work to his, only the poetic style and crediting him for inspiring me towards this musical/lyrical outlet that has become an obsession! Take a wild guess what my favorite movie is!!! :-)   I now have over 350 complete lyrics(and growing) of various subject matter and disposition. A lot of it's pretty deep stuff, some humor and love as well. I feel my lyrics lend themselves to various genres of music that I can style them into. Something to say is never an issue! Lyrical inspiration and writing to instrumental pieces comes very easy to me. I especially enjoy writing to rock tracks. Rock was the catalyst that brought all this to fruition(obviously). I'm now working with various composers on several projects on the "Kompoz" collaboration site and through personal communications/email. "Soundcloud" next, perhaps??? Biggest challenge seems to be finding singers. Plenty of composers/musicians like my material, but we seem to bottleneck at the vocal stage of projects. I'm involved in over 100 projects awaiting vocals, so they can get final mix and mastering for release.  I was a "closet writer" for years and have only been writing to music tracks since October of 2018. Throughout this process, I have learned quite a lot about music, and the business as well. I create videos for songs to not only promote the songs but also my lyrical aptitude and the talented musicians/singers who bring them to life. I'm very grateful to all of them for the opportunity to explore this creative outlet which has brought me here and allowed me to pursue what is now, the love of my life! :-)))  Anyone in need of lyrics for tunes, my lyrics are attached to songs here.
