"The Quiver"

A poet, a radio host on WPKN and a memoirist, the New Haven based psychotherapist Binnie Klein is also a Lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale. Her 2010  memoir, by the way, Blows To The Head, How Boxing Changed My Mind, is a revelation, But let's get back to the poetry. Klein started the indie music collective In These Trees back in 2019 and her friendship with Australian singer/songwriter Tartie that  resulted in an exchange of poetry, augmented that collective's strength with a ten-song album of heart-stopping beauty that is some of the most compelling and sonorous music of the year. Stereo Embers' Dave Cantrell describes the album as burning with aching, perseverant grace and goes on to say that when hearing it, he collapse every time, dropping into that kind of breath-caught, near-tears surrender that amounts to what I can only think to call ‘the innate emotional wow of recognition. Yes, he likes it. And I do too. A lot.

Here's my cover of "Quiver" from Cobra Kai - flipped upside down with a Stranger Things twist! This cover includes a section from the extended version of Quiver (from the Cobra Kai - Wax Off EP) as well as some inspiration from "The Cobra Effect".

Initially I was working on a more straightforward synthwave cover, but the main synth arpeggio was reminding me so much of the Stranger Things theme, so I decided to lean into it and I think it turned out to be a pretty cool experiment!

quiver all the time

Since a very young age, I've always been in love with music. As soon as I discovered electronic music, I knew it was something I've wanted to do. When I was 13 I got my first tracker, and began to learn the ropes using MTV Music Generator on the Playstation 1, and the rest is history! 

I've produced under a number of aliases and project names over the years, and been graced with support from so many amazing people since first stepping into the music world. My hope to is be able to inspire others to believe in themselves to follow their dreams as well, and  to stick with it!

Since he was a kid, Nick Kayne is in love with musique. He grew up with new wave and cold wave till the 90’s when he discover electronic music. After many years of clubbing in Paris and in England, he becomes a dj at 30 year old and falls in love with progressive house. After spending a few years playing in clubs and bars in Nantes, he creates his own dj crew andstart promoting his own parties, Do you wanna F… at least Castel in Nantes. At the same time he releases his own tracks for different music labels like Sun recording, Timini records and Elettrika recording.
He is opening his mind on music he plays from melodic techno to techno through progressive house (still and always).
There he starts deejaying in the south of France and Paris but also in London and Brussels where he becomes resident for background after party.
Thanks to a foolproof music culture, he’s been making bars and clubs dancing for almost 20 years.
The most important for him : playing tracks full of soul and emotion. His goal : taking on a trip through music.
