It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

This was a quick last minute recording into LUNA of R.E.M.'s song 'Low' from 1991's 'Out of Time'. We didn't even listen to the song. I (Leon) pulled up the lyrics and chords and we just went for it.  
I went for a NPR Tiny Desk Concert vibe for the recording. Just two mics. My Aston Origin mic for the vocal and a shotgun mic to capture the acoustic guitar and percussion. They were ready to go in the control room. We were only going to record it on our phone camera at first then I realised I had the means at my disposal to do a proper recording.

Alternative rock band from Sheffield.
HELLO WORLD. We are Blackwater Lightship! Tom and Leon met on a stag do in Manchester and soon realised that they shared a love for many of the same bands, R.E.M. being one of the biggest! When Tom mentioned he played drums and Leon said he played guitar and sang, they decided to meet for a jam. Picking up session members along the way!

We initially got going doing covers of some of our favourite bands/artists such as Nirvana, The National Wilco, Dolly Parton and as mentioned our beloved R.E.M. We've put some of these up on our sessions! This has expanded into the territory of working on original material, written by Leon with a collaborative effort of adding arrangements and trying out acoustic versions. We're looking forward to bringing this and our roster of covers to a venue near you soon. Here's to the spirit of sonic adventure!
