Here and Now

There is a place we can go-
Not high above the tops of trees’
Trembling green crowns; nor down below
Their roots where the diamonds are freed.
Let’s lie in the shade of their boughs,
Here and now.

There is a time we can spend-
Not long ago, when youth was ripe,
Charging its dreams; nor at the end
When the day hands over its light.
Let’s revel in moments we’ve found
Here and now

For beauty lives among us, in unexpected places,
If we only tune to its show:
Mulberries dangling down low,
Staining our fingers, sticky and sweet;
A spray-painted love note;
A hopscotch in chalk at our feet.

There is a way we can be-
Not set apart from those we meet,
Down on their luck; nor rushing in
To rescue or fall at their feet.
Let’s shoulder together the load, 
Here and now

For beauty burns among us, warming our hands and faces,
If we only steer by its glow:
Pigeons hunkered all in a row, 
Shining their feathers, staking their claim;
A skyscraper tilts at the clouds;
The call of a faraway train.

Tunnels (2025) is a piece about shifting realities and spaces. Its story involves an entangled mixture of real and dream-like events.

The piece/story has 2 layers. The first layer is a fictional story about an exploration trip to the underground. After various events (Burried Forest), the main character loses its light source in dark tunnels and blindly navigates to the unknown. He crosses lakes, sees crystal geodes, and hears earthquakes and collapsation. As he tries to find any light source, he finds himself in weirder situations. The physicality of the piece; elemental usage (water, earth, glass...), frequency usage, reverberation, etc is gathered around this reality.

The second layer is about my journey through this semester. The story contains important events from my life, thoughts, feelings, and such. It functions as a diary to me. This personal reality decides my sound material (car, train, sea), musicality (mood), dynamics, and pace, alongside some scenery connected with the story layer.

2 layers have their accented, dedicated sections in the form/structure of the piece. For example, a train sound is ultimately connected with the real life. However, they morph into each other continuously (for example it turns into a rumble, a quake). Thus, they create a unique and alternative story we can call a 3rd layer; the Masking layer. A layer that has petrified as audio, lost its composer's heritage and merged with the listener's story. Enjoy.

Milak is a DJ originally from Bosnia, now based in Konstanz, Germany. Known locally for organizing underground events in his hometown and for his dynamic sets that range from deep,  minimal to tech house. Milak is heavily inspired by hip hop and 80s, infusing his performances with a nostalgic yet modern energy. He has showcased his talent at gigs in Slovenia, Bosnia and Serbia, connecting with diverse audiences and growing his reputation. Recently, Milak has embarked on a new chapter by learning sound creation with Ableton, further expanding his creative range and dedication to the electronic music scene.

Jeder Ort, jede Begegnung und jedes Event hinterließ Spuren in seinem musikalischen Ausdruck.

Mit einer tiefen Leidenschaft für elektronische Musik und einem feinen Gespür für Stimmungen schafft er Sets, die Grenzen überschreiten. Seine Tracks sind eine Fusion aus unterschiedlichen Strömungen des Techno – Dabei steht immer eines im Vordergrund: das Verbindende in der Musik zu betonen.

Aus jahrelanger Erfahrung formt er eine Klangsprache, die nicht nur tanzbar, sondern auch erzählerisch ist. Sein Ziel ist es, die globale Sprache des Techno zu sprechen – und damit Menschen aus verschiedensten Kulturen auf der Tanzfläche miteinander zu verbinden. Mit seinen Sets und Produktionen möchte er nicht nur unterhalten, sondern gemeinsame Interessen und Emotionen wecken – ganz im Zeichen einer musikalischen Weltreise ohne Grenzen.

Bio (boring):
I graduated from Eskişehir Conservatory with a degree in piano. Now, this is my 2nd year in the Bilkent Composition Department. I also work on the university's radio. I usually create my compositions in different styles and cultures. Sometimes they are short-movie or game soundtracks, sometimes they are simply techno or breakcore. I enjoy this/creating various kinds of music so much that I ignore the probability of hurting my career at some point...
