Christ praises John the Baptist as the greatest born of women, yet reminds us that true greatness lies in faithfulness to the Kingdom. John prepared the way for Christ, and the martyrs prepared the way for the Church. At the start of the Coptic New Year, we are called to reset our lives in witness—living not with shallow resolutions, but with a baptismal mindset of faithfulness and hope. I'm Alive

“Sunrise Amiss” tells the story of love compared to a sunrise — brilliant, fragile, and fleeting. The lyrics open with vibrant imagery of dawn, golden hues, and salty air drifting across the shore, capturing the thrill of young hearts taking in a perfect morning. The first verse sets a scene of wonder, yet the pre-chorus quickly reminds the listener that beauty fades as swiftly as the sunrise itself.
The chorus moves into a darker space, reflecting loss and longing: the heavens darken, colors vanish, and life’s canvas feels erased. Still, hope is not abandoned. The refrain “I’ll rise” becomes both a personal declaration and a promise of renewal.
In the second verse, the narrator holds on to fading warmth and chases slipping colors, yet love continues to call through confusion. The repeated pre-chorus underscores fragility, but also heightens the tension before the chorus returns with raw emotion.
The bridge offers release — tomorrow brings endless mysteries, another dawn, and a brighter sunrise still to come. The outro ties the story together: love is the sunrise, sometimes hidden but always returning. The pursuit of love is constant, and the song closes in faithful longing.
