If you are a fan of techno and have paid attention to the most relevant producers lately, you will surely have come across the name of the maker of this EP. Roll Dann is one of the fittest creators on the Spanish scene and this is demonstrated by his work for labels such as Soma Quality Recordings or Mord among others. His specialty is the most combative and direct techno, but with a solid foundation in the best tradition of this sound, the roots that come from the best British techno of the nineties, combined with a current and powerful sound design. This in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of the genre leads him to easily master everything necessary to move an intelligent dance floor and throughout the six cuts that make up this work he demonstrates it with solvency and professionalism. Starting with the introduction Confused Smiles, Roll Dann prepares us for the storm that will follow, which opens fire with Ungrateful Skills, straight to the jugular, made with crunchy continuous sequences, with the appropriate dose of distortion riding on a compact and direct rhythm, all with an hypnotic and obsessive progression that makes it a dangerous tool for the most experienced DJs. Interrupted slides towards more liquid terrain without abandoning the danceable impulse, but soon things get more aggressive with the emergence of successive layers and sequences. The Guide descends into the depths of the underground sound, rubbery and smoky, stretching and modifying the frequencies, playing with distortion and aggressiveness in a risky but nevertheless very effective exercise in the club. Creating Pleasures stops the machine and experiments with textures and industrial influences, a necessary stop that takes us to the last cut, Excess of Power, a kind of rhythmic tunneling machine that pierces the eardrums and stirs up the sound systems, a farewell in style for a high-voltage EP.

Welcome to Cycles introducing Sergio Oñoro from Azuqueca de Henares, Spain. A big lover of vinyl culture and creepy dark Techno. He started mixing at a young age and set off as a part of the "19200" collective in his hometown. Later he also became active with the “deejaytechnoclub” by taking part in their events. Some of his bigger influences include artists such as: Oscar Mulero, HD Susbtance, Nørbak and Jeff Mills. For Cycles he has prepared a forceful set full of throbbing tracks to push you further into the depths.

Contempo is thrilled to welcome the dynamic and innovative Fvndo to its imprint with his debut release, "Reasoning".

With music in his veins from a young age, Fvndo has evolved from a prodigious drummer in rock bands and philharmonics to a master of electronic soundscapes. His journey through music, punctuated by a formal education in musical creation at Lisbon's Restart institution, has culminated in a style that is both industrial and bold, marked by pure and raw techno rhythms.

Roll Dann, a veteran of the techno scene with releases on labels like Klockworks and Mord known for his aggressive yet enveloping style, Adds a potent remix to the lineup.

Fvndo's EP showcases the ability to craft tracks that captivate and engage, featuring complex textures and unique spatial qualities. The title track, "Reasoning," sets the stage with its rhythmic groove and precise drum patterns. Manchester-born DJ, producer and label boss, Cleric has been a prolific figure within the electronic dance landscape for fifteen years. With his label, Clergy, the Mancunian has strived to cultivate an aesthetic which mirrors that of his own musical principles. Always earnest in his conviction, Cleric has stayed staunch to the pacey, arresting techno that’s secured him his rightful place amongst the scene’s hardest of hitters.

To usher in the next decade, Cleric has announced a total of 10 VA’s to be released in 2025, each with 5 original tracks, and closing with a remix of a track from the label’s back catalogue from Cleric himself. The first VA titled ‘Alpha’ will drop on the 25th January.

“I've always tried to push boundaries on new projects and concepts. Instead of being a standard 4 track EP every time. For our 20th release we created "visions". An unreleased mix with no track-list that was launched with visuals over on HATE. Following the release of the mix, all the tracks then released on Clergy. This gave unknown artists a chance to rub shoulders with big names and people not pre-judging their music on profile size.” - Cleric
