With the holiday season upon us, the curmudgeonly Grinch launches his master plan...with a deadly virus, he shall cancel Christmas, banishing all the holiday icons to a faraway land where they can't bring cheer to all the good children in the human world. Can one little troublemaker from Illinois be the key to bringing back the Christmas spirit?

This plays at the memorial statue and during the flashback. The flashback actually happens later in this AU, not occurring until after the fight with John McClane.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer takes the role of Asriel. After running away from the other mean reindeer, he got himself lost, and was helped out by the Grinch. They became fast friends, and came up with a dastardly plan together...
