Messages From The Deep Vol. II - DJ Mix (Electro/IDM/Techno)

London based label and collective Cartulis Music announce their fifteenth release titled “Twilight Expanse” by New York producer Ebeats. A reissue from the early noughties featuring a previously unreleased Ebeats cut plus two new remixes by the legendary Radioactive Man and FOLD associate Voicedrone. The title track is one near and dear to the spirit of Cartulis - an emotive journey through hazy breakbeats, sirens from faraway lands, dramatic narratives battling through each other in a nine minute long piece of music. The rest of the record swings from club-ready techno grooves to various shades of electro - dark and dubby or bright and punchy.

Next up on Co-Accused Records - No Static / Automatic label boss ARA-U is piloting the craft with his NO FUTURE EP. The Venezuelan Electro producer provides four analogue cuts accompanied by a Radioactive Man remix.

It's a cosmic liftoff with the mind warping sonic sounds of 'Planet Destroy'. Radioactive Man's funk fueled remix has an infectious 303 bassline that takes the listener on a jackin 'journey. On the flip side 'Exit Now' moves into driving hypnotic synths with sizzling percussion throughout. 'No Future' dips the dancefloor into a twisting wormhole of intergalactic grooves. The EP closes with the dark dystopian synths and extraterrestrial layers of 'It’s Only Lies Around Me'.

Spy DJ (@thebandit808) is a regular DJ in the electronic scene of Barcelona for over 20 years. He is known for his constant work in the diffusion of Electro and also for his energetic Techno sessions. In 2001 he debuted as a DJ in the Neon room of Nitsa and since then he has toured countless national and some international clubs, where his sessions and the Electroclub parties of which he was the organizer have been programmed, parties that evolved as a collective to later become a netlabel. He is also a founding member of the labels Útil Récords and Gente Seria Viste Chandal. Spy is also dedicated to production under the alias The Bandit and has released with a number of great labels.

Eelco has been obsessed with music since a very young age. Like many Techno DJ’s he’s always had an eclectic taste in music that goes from metal to jazz to classical, drum & bass, hip hop, etc. He had an epiphany when he went to his first AWAKENINGS techno party in Amsterdam many years ago. Since then he’s been addicted to this pulsing sound. His favorite styles are Techno and Electro. “The first time I walked into a Warehouse. And FELT that hard Bass, sharp hi-hats, and hypnotizing techno sound, I knew I had come home. 
I want to spread my religious passion for the sounds of proper TECHNO!

Andrew Wowk is a DJ, producer, radio host, promoter, and writer who has been active in the Eora (Sydney) electronic music scene for 20 years. First introduced to DJing through a work experience placement at community radio station Rhythm FM at age 16, Andrew exudes a passion for and knowledge of music that is the result of years of experience.

As a DJ, Andrew has earned a reputation for refined technical skills and eclectic track selection. His tastes run the gamut of techno, house, breakbeat, drum & bass and jungle, electro, and leftfield electronica. But even with such a wide range of music at his disposal, he finds ways to combine these numerous sounds into a cohesive whole. Often focused more on telling a story or creating a particular feeling with his sets, he regularly moves fluidly across stylistic boundaries, preferring to find other similarities between tracks than just their genre.

His intelligent approach to DJing has led to him playing at some of Sydney and Australia's most well-respected clubs/events, both as a headliner and as a support act for international artists. He has also received international recognition, being invited to play guest sets at Circus Osaka in Japan, DEPTH and Train Car House Party in Seattle, as well as perform on 313.FM in Detroit, WNYU in New York, and provide mixes for Animal Instinct in Berlin, Fnoob Radio, and Error Sessions in the UK.

Outside of club DJing, Andrew also produces music under the alias End User License Agreement, which has been released on labels such as Biotech Recordings, Baroque Recordings, Extra Spicy, B&H Recordings, Communication Records, Monarch Recordings, and Late Night Music. His remix of Floor Twenty’s “Say My Name” and his original track “Chonk” were both featured in Beatport’s and Juno's best bass music releases from 2021. He also hosts a weekly radio show "Time To Track" on 2SER, regularly writes for both print and online media, and runs events covering the spectrum of underground dance music, featuring previous headliners such as Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Marcus Intalex, Regis, Hodge, Adriana Lopez, Djinn, SNTS, and Nastia Reigel. 

Andrew is passionate about social and political issues and strongly believes in using music as a medium for addressing these issues. Much of the music he loves was originally created in tandem with social, cultural, and political movements, and he believes that contemporary music should also carry a message. To put this into practice, he launched Music For Change, a label which donates 100% of profits from all releases to various charities, alongside Jessica Tassone in 2021. Releases on the label have been supported by international artists such as Dave Clarke, Ani Klang, and Alchemist/Amy Kisnorbo, and played on rotation on local radio stations FBI Radio and 2SER.

Jamie B is a record collector & DJ from the UK residing in Sydney, Australia. He's been collecting vinyl for over 3 decades with an eclectic range of influences including Punk, Dub, Hip Hop, Electro, Disco, House, Techno & everything in between.

In the early 90’s, Jamie fell in love with the sounds of Electro, UK Bleep & Bass & Detroit Techno. Inspired by DJ's such as Dave Clarke, Andrew Weatherall, Laurent Garnier & Jeff Mills, he began crafting his skills & playing gigs around London. Today his style still favours House, Techno & Electro sounds, with a strong focus on mixing things up & dropping curveballs to keep the dancefloor on its toes.
 
Alongside fellow crate digger, Raffi Irie Lovechild, Jamie hosts SOKA LOKA MOKI, a monthly night of eclectic sounds where you’ll hear the likes of Chaka Khan, Kraftwerk & Prince, rubbing shoulders with A Tribe Called Quest, Larry Heard & Moodymann.

Jamie is also a member of GOT MUSIC, a convergence of DJs & artists hosting regular events in Sydney exploring the deeper pockets of electronic music.
