Straturday Night: Ron Falls?! Randy Rhoads What-Ifs, Dimebag Pics & TEASE 🎸 VegaTrem Mod! 7/19/25

On this episode of Johnny Beane TV, we pay tribute to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne, who has passed away at the age of 76.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” his family said in a statement. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

No cause of death was given, though last few years leading up to his passing had been a rough ride for Ozzy. He was forced to postpone his “No More Tours 2” farewell tour, first due to a bout with pneumonia, then due to a serious fall while at home in Los Angeles. In early 2020, he went public with Parkinson’s disease, just before the pandemic hit.

Despite his ailments, Osbourne mustered the strength to play one final concert alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates earlier this month on July 5th in his hometown of Birmingham, England.

Born John Michael Osbourne on December 3rd, 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, Ozzy sought to become a singer in a rock band after becoming smitten by The Beatles. By the end of the ‘60s, he had formed Black Sabbath (originally named Earth), rounding out a lineup that also included guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward.

Though no official cause of death has been announced, Ozzy battled serious health issues in recent years—from pneumonia to a major fall and his public fight with Parkinson’s disease. Still, in true Ozzy fashion, he gave fans one final unforgettable moment—reuniting with Black Sabbath for a surprise performance in Birmingham, England, just weeks before his passing.

Bob Daisley: The Unsung Hero of Rock and Roll

For over five decades, bassist and songwriter Bob Daisley has been the powerhouse behind some of rock’s most iconic recordings. From thunderous metal anthems to soulful blues and progressive ballads, Daisley’s versatility and talent have made him a cornerstone in music history—working alongside legendary artists across the globe.

Early Years: From Australia to the World Stage

Born in Australia, Daisley moved to London at 21, chasing a future in music. On his 22nd birthday in 1972, he joined Stan Webb’s band Chicken Shack. Just a year later, he signed on with Mungo Jerry, recording the hit single “Alright, Alright, Alright” and embarking on extensive international tours.

Breaking Through: Widowmaker and Rainbow

In 1974, Daisley rejoined Chicken Shack, but his creative ambitions led to co-founding Widowmaker in 1975. The band released two albums: Widowmaker (1976) and Too Late to Cry (1977), earning acclaim in the UK rock scene.

Later that year, Daisley was tapped by guitar virtuoso Ritchie Blackmore to join Rainbow, alongside vocalist Ronnie James Dio and drummer Cozy Powell—forming what many consider the band’s definitive lineup. Their explosive live shows and the album Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll solidified Rainbow's place in rock history.

Blizzard of Ozz: Defining a Genre

In 1979, Daisley partnered with Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Randy Rhoads to form the Blizzard of Ozz. Their self-titled debut soared to #7 on the UK charts and went platinum in the U.S. They followed with Diary of a Madman (1981), which also achieved platinum status and further cemented the band's influence on heavy metal.

Beyond the Blizzard: A Storied Career

After a brief departure, Daisley returned to work with Osbourne on his third solo album. Tragedy struck in 1982 with Rhoads’ untimely death, but the band pressed on, recording Bark at the Moon (1983) with new guitarist Jake E. Lee, earning international success.

Daisley also joined Uriah Heep during this period and launched a prolific collaboration with guitar legend Gary Moore. He contributed to Victims of the Future and toured globally, later reuniting with Moore for Wild Frontier (1987) and Still Got the Blues (1990)—Moore’s most successful album to date.

1990s & Beyond: Writing Hits, Shaping Legends

Daisley returned once again to the Osbourne fold, co-writing and performing on No Rest for the Wicked (1988) and the chart-topping No More Tears (1991). That same decade, he formed Mother’s Army with Jeff Watson of Night Ranger, releasing several albums showcasing his songwriting depth.

Throughout the 2000s, he remained an in-demand collaborator, contributing to projects with Yngwie Malmsteen, Living Loud—a supergroup with Jimmy Barnes, Steve Morse, Don Airey, and Lee Kerslake—and revisiting classic Blizzard of Ozz material.

Author and Legacy Builder

In 2013, Daisley released his autobiography For Facts Sake, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at his life in rock. Though he has stepped back from touring, he remains a respected figure in the music industry, continuing to inspire through studio work and guest appearances.

🎸🔥 On this episode, we dove into some Randy Rhoads history—I’ve been hanging out in a few Randy Rhoads Facebook groups, and a lot of that history is brand new to me. You guys know I’ve got all my Van Halen history down, but I’m just now learning the Rhoads side of things, and it’s been awesome soaking it all in! ⚡

We also read a wild story from Guitar Player where Ace Frehley revealed why he won’t be part of the Las Vegas Unmasked show in November. That led us into a deep dive on KISS, Ace’s legacy, and even some of my own history in music—including showcasing for Bill Aucoin, KISS’s legendary manager back in the day. 🎤🖤

From there, we checked out some killer Firefly guitars and even a couple of TEASE guitars, before heading over to Ron’s workbench where he showed us the FRTLZR fret polishing kit—a premium tool for making those frets shine like brand new. MATTIA D'AMBROS 
is a composer, arranger, score writer, percussionist, and drummer, based in Tokyo. 
At present, aside from music writing, he is the diligent event organizer and drummer of the rock band “Hanato Chiruran”. He also occasionally plays for other artists’ sessions.
 
He takes interest in a variety of music genres, including, but not limited to: ambient, orchestral, world, Latin rhythms, rock, and soundtracks (documentary, TV commercial, cinema, corporate, etc.).  His unique styles and approaches, gathered from all his travels and experiences, bring individuality to each of his music creations.

 彼が創りあげる音楽の世界は、彼自身が積み重ねてきたあらゆる経験によるものから成り立つ。 彼は何時でも、六感を研ぎ澄まし、その土地に昔から伝わるエネルギーを肌で感じる。 それらのエネルギーは、彼の体内において、過去の経験と融合され、彼独特の感性によって編集され、「音楽」という媒体に創発され、アウトプットしているのである。   　
彼はまた、作曲・編曲活動の他、数々の音楽イベントの企画を手がけ、彼自身もパーカッション奏者として都内にて、定期的にセッションライブを行っている。 　現在は、ロックバンド“花ト散るらん”のメンバーとしても精力的にライブ活動を展開し、ドラマーとしても多くのアーティストとセッションを行う。

The Wild Spirits was spawned from the mind of Marec .K, who sees music as a vast buffet as opposed to different genres.

This music is flawlessly executed with a rawness that just feels pure and more old school in the sense that it has attitude and conviction. The guitar work is beautifuly executed and you never know just what to expect vocally from Multi-instrumentalist/Vocalist/Producer Marec .K. He is always pushing the boundaries and evolving musically and vocally as well as tackling a variety of provocative world issues.
No auto tune or AI or borrowed beats or fake content, this is real...pure...and from the heart.  
Influences are many rock and metal related bands & artists from the 60's through to 90's like Led Zeppelin, The Who, Leonard Cohen, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Jeff Buckley, Extreme, Chris Cornell, Steve Vai, Pantera, Megadeth but The Wild Spirits have a very unique sound that stands alone from other artists.
