Trademark Shit [Ideal Suspect]

I love this track.  But i've nearly ruined it about 4-5 times when trying to arrange, mix and master it.  
Since it's inital creation in 2019, there are now over 170 mixes of it.
And like Lee Mavers of The LAs, I'm still not happy!  but unlike the aforementioned obsessive scally, I've written other in the meantime hahaha.  and also now finally publishing this one.

Zee TV

It was c1994. The Prodigy were huge, and I'd seen them first around 1991 in Oxford playing my sister's college ball.  I played piano, and had lernt most of the piano riffs from the early 90s rave tunes.  

most of that infuence went into this track.  made with my Roland Dance module and Korg 05 R/W which i'd acquired to upgrade and augment my still Technics keyboard and Atari ST Cubase based set-up.
leap forward to remaking it in 2022 from the dusty diskettes and their MIDI files.... I kept the actual tuneand structure mostly in place.  The Roland Dance and Korg Modules still work, so I could find some of the old sounds.   Adding in some suitably Jamaican / Dub-influenced vocals from Loopcloud for a touch of that 'Out Of Space' magic dust for half-time breakbeats.  

And here we are.

Jericho Nights

this track was originally written in c1992 with my good friend Nic Hemley.  It was written with a roland sh101 and juno 106.  i don't think we realised what iconic bits of kit we had in our possession at the time.  (Nic sold them about a month later for a couple of hundred pounds, so I guess not). 

a proper rave-tastic breakbeat / jungle / d&b piece of derivative fun.  with rave92 era pianos and dodgy samples from famous films that might get you in trouble.

remade in 2023/2024 completely from scratch.  All i had was a cassette of the original, which i'd sensibly made into a wav file about 15 years ago.  (as i no longer have the cassettes!)

roland cloud helped a lot of course, as did omnisphere.  loopcloud gave some vocals and loops.  arturia vocoder added some extra vocal touches.  
kept it short and sharp - an energy burst from the 90s to recharge your senses!

Snowing In Bali

The original Try Again was on the 2000 album Monte Cristo Gamble [sic].  i think it was the first track that i sampled from a vinyl record.  in this case the soundtrack to the soft-porn classic, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill.  there's even some scratching in there.
for this 2020 remake, I sorted out all the dodgy timings etc. beefed up some sounds.  then for some reason added in a load of extras in the inbetween parts.  interesting, but no doubt over-cooked this track big time.  i guess rather like the movie from where the vocal samples come from.
