After years of practice, The Principal brings a mature and diverse approach to raw and melodic hardstyle in Australia. 

Since October 2016, The Principal, better known as Sam, has supported dozens international acts at some of Australia's finest events, including B-Front, Crypsis, Darren Styles, Rebelion, Da Tweekaz, Ran-D, Adaro, Sub Zero Project, Phuture Noize, Digital Punk, Hard Driver and the late great Delete to name a few. 

He has played for established Australian brands such as Masif Saturdays, Hard Kandy, PHD, HSU Events,  No Sleep Entertainment among others as well as touring Europe in 2017 and 2018 playing in the Netherlands for Boulevard Outdoor and in France for Hardpulz.

He organised his own events under the Surge brand and now focuses on small occasional events at Top Yard Rooftop bar in Melbourne

His energetic, tough, melodic and emotional approach is unrivalled in Australia making him the no 1 choice for fans and promoters alike.

Approaching 10 years into this project, The Principal is still standing strong for quality music that takes you on a journey!

Symbiotic Audio is a hardstyle DJ and producers duo of Geoffrey van Berkel and Jan van Raamsdonk.


Geoffrey and Jan met in 2004 at Defqon.1 Festival 2004. Visiting hardstyle festivals was one of their favorite recreations. Both started making music in the early millennium, experimenting with Music Maker, Reason and Fruity Loops. In 2006 Geoffrey and Jan started to create a track together and decided to start a DJ / producer duo as Bassdealer & The JVR. In 2008 they released their first EP at Kattiva Records called “Schon Muziekske”, including the celebrated title track and a darker raw minded “Time to kill”. This release was clearly noticed in the hardstyle scene and resulted in several bookings.


Hardstyle music kept evolving in 2010 / 2011 and the overall musical quality got boosted due to the global EDM wave. Having a fresh sound with an impressive high level quality was the new bar for releasing music and both noticed that there was a long way ahead. The next years resulted in a musically though period with many frustrations. Nevertheless, their passion for hardstyle kept the producing spirit alive.


In 2017 it was time for a fresh reboot in their career. Since the last releases many years ago the sound has drastically changed and both felt that the act “Bassdealer & The JVR” was a past station, a closed chapter. It was time for something new: Symbiotic Audio was born.


In 2019 Symbiotic Audio signed at Blow Beatz Records. Since 2019 lots of tracks were released on Blow Beatz, with some of the greatest hits so far: “Be the dream”, “Disconnected”  (with Backfire) and “Broken Heart” (with A-Style).


In 2023 Geoffrey and Jan signed at Upcoming Records and KarmaKontra. In 2024 they signed at Hyperverb's love4hard records. With performaces  at Intents, Karnaval Festival and Elektrum they are paving there way forward in the scene.


The name Symbiotic Audio refers to a natural phenomenon called symbiosis. Symbiosis is any type of a close and long-term biological interaction between two different biological organisms. E.g. a clown fish feeds on small invertebrates that otherwise have potential to harm the sea anemone. On the other hand the fecal matter from the clownfish provides nutrients to the sea anemone. In the studio Geoffrey and Jan experience a symbiotic relationship as well: Geoffrey has a clear strength in kick and synth design and Jan focusses on melodies, breaks and technical arrangement of a track. Like the natural phenomenon the one cannot exist without the other.
