'Before' (Solo Acoustic)

“Bruised” is a deeply introspective acoustic track, originally penned over a decade ago and now vividly brought to life in Ricki Wood’s Live @ Hello performance (released 14 February 2025)

In it, Ricki reflects on 13 years of working and performing within the church—bearing the weight of youthful mistakes and the scars of complicated beliefs (“I’ve carried the weight / Been bruised by stones / And misled from the truth”) 

As the song unfolds, he revisits old rituals and sacred texts, only to discover that the path to authenticity lies not in external doctrine, but within: “43 years… I realised the soul I was searching is the one within me” 

Rooted in raw, soulful vocals and tender acoustic guitar, “Bruised” captures the emotional journey of shedding ingrained expectations and embracing self-belief. It’s a quiet anthem of inner reconciliation—seeking forgiveness not from others, but from oneself—and finding true faith in personal growth.

“My Greatest Fear” by Ricki Wood is a poignant acoustic ballad from his sometimes I wonder EP (released January 11, 2024) . In this reflective track, Ricki reconnects with someone familiar (“I talked with you just today / In that old familiar way”), yet he reveals a vulnerability that defines the song’s theme: the paralyzing dread of losing purpose. As the chorus repeats—“To feel I have no purpose / Is my greatest fear”—we feel Ricki’s inner turmoil when he drifts and his life’s direction seems uncertain 

The arrangement is warm and spare, featuring Ricki’s heartfelt vocals supported by gentle guitar. It evokes a sense of quiet longing, especially in lines like “Sometimes, my ship I cannot steer / And I have lost my way.” It’s an honest confession wrapped in soulful storytelling, perfectly in tune with Ricki’s alt-country and folk roots

I hold a Minor in Music from Murray State University where I studied piano, pipe organ, percussion, theory, and composition.  I have extensive experience accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists as well as experience playing in bands (piano, guitar, percussion, lead and harmony vocals). Formerly, I played and sang with the South Bend-based band Suggesting Scarlett which included opening for Robin and Linda Williams and Chris Thile's Grammy Award-winning band Punch Brothers.

A native of Minneapolis, Nate Amor has been plying his trade since 2001.  As a singer-songwriter he released three albums beginning with Long Five Days in 2001.  Since then he has been featured on NBC’s The Voice, , has shared the stage with Train, Mat Kearney, and Marc Cohn.  He is also a vocalist and member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  
 
Nate grew up obsessed with Elvis and the Beach Boys, and his first time on stage he performed “In the Ghetto” by Elvis at his high school talent show.  Since then Nate has been obsessed with the songwriting and story-telling of Rock and Americana, and the power of lyrics as a positive and transformative force. 
 
In 2022 Nate relocated to Los Angeles, and began writing an album under the moniker Nate Amor.  This fresh perspective is what drives his new album.  He wrote and recorded it in Nashville, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles, working with legendary mixers Joe Zook and Drew Middleton.  What came from this new start as Nate Amor is his very own unique sound with odes to some of his favorite artists such as Kings of Leon, Ray Lamontagne, and Chris Stapleton.  His debut album as Nate Amor Keep Dreaming is OUT NOW.
