11xxx27 & Mystics delivery the first release on their new platform Repulse Xplosif.

Paradise Collapse EP is a state of limbo where the certainties we once knew dissolve into uncertainty and chaos.
The paradisiacal bubble we once inhabited bursts, leaving us exposed to the harsh realities we had previously ignored or taken for granted. 

Like the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes, we have the potential to emerge from this limbo stronger and more resilient than before. 

As the certainties we were once attached to crumble around us, we can rebuild our lives on a foundation rooted in authenticity and self-awareness. Mirroring the constant changes we face in our lives, the music adapts, taking us on a whirlwind of emotions, as we navigate the ever-shifting landscape.

It is important to recognize that changes is not a destination but a transitional phase.

PREMIERE⚡11xxx27 & Mystics - Warp And Woof [Repulse Xplosif]

During the 1980s, I spent a lot of my time riding around the British Rail network, mainly chasing Class 40s and then Class 50s, but also seeing and riding behind a number of other classes. I made a number of tape recordings at the time - many from the front window, some from the platform - using my trusty 'ghetto-blaster' or 'boom box' - and now these recordings can finally be heard :)

Here we have 17 minutes of real-time recordings from the platform at London Paddington. The sounds of no less than nine different Class 50s can be heard on various departures. The sequence ends with me at the front window behind 50030 "Repulse" as I headed out from Paddington to Oxford - always quite a challenge for me to get a recording hanging out of the window with my ghetto blaster 😎. 

The cast in order of appearance:
50017 "Royal Oak" departs on 1F32 the 16.57 to Oxford
50026 "Indomitable" departs on 1B46 the 17.00 to Hereford
50029 "Renown" then appears briefly, after being released off the blocks after bringing in 5F32 ECS
50045 "Achilles" heads off on 1F24 the 17.03 to Newbury - with a blast on the horn :)
with 50012 "Benbow" ticking over in the background (right next to me on Platform 1) we next hear 50027 "Lion" released off the blocks after bringing in 5F24 ECS - accompanied by some rattling Post Office 'BRUTES' :)
then, with the accompaniment of a Metropolitan underground train in the distance, another unidentified VAC departs with ECS loco following behind, and then we move forward half an hour to the second half of the rush-hour...

Now 50012 "Benbow" can be heard again, this time with a potential 'hoovering' fault in the background - this delayed the train 5 mins, and after the driver makes an examination, the guard whistles away, and he leaps back in the cab and blasts off late with 1F42 the 17.47 to Frome via Westbury.

Now, with "my machine" 50031 "Hood" ticking over (a tad unevenly) on the far platform, 50043 "Eagle" trundles by after being released from 5F42 ECS
followed closely by 50031 "Hood" departing with a flourish on 1M61 the 17.53 Banbury via High Wycombe

and then finally - I leap aboard 1B56 to Hereford which was in the hands of 50030 "Repulse" - taken as far as Oxford - taped leaving Paddington and getting 'gripped' by the guard soon after departure :)

So a real blast from nine of the Class 50s in just over an hour - edited from real-time recordings made by me in 1987.

Class 50 Heaven 😎 Part One - the Paddington evening rush-hour - 31Mar1987

Here we have another 18 minutes of real-time recordings taken from the platform at London Paddington, departing Oxford, Reading and from the old footbridge at Southall. The sounds of no less than ten different Class 50s can be heard on various services. The sequence begins where we left off in my previous recording "Class 50 heaven 😎 the Paddington evening rush-hour - 31Mar1987" with me at the front window behind 50030 "Repulse" as I headed out from Paddington to Oxford - always quite a challenge for me to get a recording hanging out of the window with my ghetto blaster 😎;)

The cast in order of appearance: 50030 "Repulse", 50043 "Eagle", 50038 "Formidable", 50016 "Barham", 50023 "Howe", 50047 "Swiftsure", 50041 "Bulwark", 50033 "Glorious", 50008 "Thunderer" and 50037 "Illustrious".

31st Mar 1987 - after recording eight of the Class during the evening rush-hour at Paddington, I had leapt aboard 1B56 to Hereford which was in the capable hands of 50030 "Repulse" - which I took as far as Oxford - taped leaving Paddington and getting 'gripped' by the guard soon after departure :) and then from the platform as the train departed Oxford.

Next, from the front window again, we hear 50043 "Eagle" departing Reading on return working 1F43 back to Paddington (with the sound of a westbound HST passing :)

Back a year to 9th May 1986, and 50038 "Formidable" is next up, from the platform at Paddington departing on 1M61. And then we have a short sequence of recordings from the trackside at Southall, with my ghetto blaster primed on the stairs of the footbridge as I took some photos. On 11th May 1986 we hear 50016 "Barham" on 1Cxx 14.45 Paddington-Plymouth - being a Sunday, there was some engineering on the line, so the recording is of the loco crossing the points from the Down Slow to the Down Fast, hence the slow speed which is evident in the recording. The photo of this one accompanies this SoundCloud recording 😎. 

Then we move forwards in time again to 16th Apr 1987 hearing 50023 "Howe" as she runs up to a red light on the Up Slow with a parcels train - this is closely followed by  50047 "Swiftsure" belting past with 1F18 Paddington - Oxford, followed by 50023 restarting and heading east with the parcels. Finally in this sequence, 50041 "Bulwark" heads 1C39 the 11.45 Paddington-Penzance service.

To close the sequence, we're back at Paddington again - on the same day as the Southall tracks, we hear 50038 "Formidable" after being released off the blocks light engine. 50033 "Glorious" then makes a vigorous start with 1F24 to Oxford, and 50038 returning light engine to work a later service. Finally, from 30th May 1987, 50008 "Thunderer" departs with 1B56 to Hereford with 50037 "Illustrious" being released off the blocks after bringing in 5F32 ECS.

Been into rock and indie music since the 1970s. Went to many gigs in the 1980s when a student. Fewer in recent years - highlights include The Smiths at Kingston Poly in 1983 (for 50p!), Iggy Pop + Suicide at Hammersmith in 2010, Iggy Pop again at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016. Long-time fan of John Peel (some original recordings on SoundCloud 😎) Also interested in railways and aviation with some unique recordings from the 70s & 80s also up on SoundCloud 😃

Fun Fact: 

"Pictureplane"(Travis Egedy), is a popular artist known for making his come up in the electronic music scene, DIY Venues, also popular for hanging around artists like "Grimes" and "Crystal Castles" in the early come up days of these artist, he is also the one who came up with the word "Witch House" which is a playful word on "House" music, though "Witch House" is now a popular music genre that is enjoyed by many.

"Crystal Castles" are actually one of the very first, if not the first electronic music duo to actually invent "Witch House" music, as you can hear dark beats and sorrow drawn out voices off of some of their early (demo songs/ Demo Album) dating back from "2007" and before that, which is crazy to think since during that time "Witch House" did not have a name for itself yet.
