Sol (Heavenly Mix) is the third single from my ambient album Celestial Bodies—a bright, airy piece made for calm, sunlit spaces. It blends the cool light of Luna with the deep warmth of Terra, inspired by a classical, comforting image of the sun.

This version is a reworked, shorter take on a 20-minute original, with a more defined structure and added vocal layers. While the full version uses phase shifting for slow, meditative variation, the Heavenly Mix is more through-composed—unfolding gradually to offer a clearer listening experience.

Made entirely in Reason 12. Best heard somewhere quiet, with a cheese plant nearby 🌿☀️

A horror soundtrack score style piece, which follows no set structure or key until the second half where it picks up to a more playfully mischievous and rhythmic motif.
All instrument sounds have been made using four of "Fallout Music Group"s Kontakt instruments (Unblown, Unstrung, Unsung and Restrung) with the addition of one instance of Damage 2 Loop Designer Kontakt instrument for some of the percussion parts.

This is reworked version of 2014 song written with Don Reese and is the 2nd rework to commemorate the talents of a very dear friend.

The rework has ditched the repeated drum loop for a fully dedicated drum kit similar to the recent So Cold rework for a more natural sound and feel.
Also the repeated looped bass riff has been rerecorded and expanded on creating new bass lines for each section of the song.
New Electric guitar parts have been recorded for the chorus'.
Some minor changes have been made to the vocals in the final chorus and outro sections.
Re-automated the volume levels throughout to better balance the final production.

Rest In Peace Don, you will forever be missed.

aztechsounds is a Bristol-based musician exploring the intersection of ambient, drone, and electronic experimentation. His work blends rich textures, evolving soundscapes, and immersive atmospheres, creating music that feels both cinematic and deeply personal.

Originally cutting his teeth in school cover bands, Maik quickly gravitated toward electronic production, drawn to its immediacy and creative freedom. "Learning FL Studio was just way more fun than revising for GCSEs," he recalls. "I could have an idea, work on it for an evening, and suddenly it was ready to send to my mates or blast in the car to annoy my parents."

After making his live debut opening the Weapon of Choice stage at Brisfest 2011, he moved to Cardiff to study Music Technology—"basically three years of learning to make better tunes." Those years laid the foundation for a series of releases that span glitchy electronica, atmospheric synthwork, and deep ambient explorations.

Notable projects include effstarstarstar (2016), promoted with a live performance at The Attic Bar as part of the ChkOne event series, and debug7 (2024), an ambient record that marked a shift away from structured rhythms to a more textural, melodic focus. His 2015 EP Factory Noises was recently made available on streaming, featuring the dreamlike synth-driven City View, 2am and the dynamic, break-infused Soar.

His latest project, winterscapes (2025), is a four-track EP inspired by a series of winter landscape photos, blending drone and ambient elements to evoke frozen fields, misty mornings, and quiet, reflective spaces.

With an ever-evolving approach to sound, aztechsounds continues to push the boundaries of texture and atmosphere.
