ايش يعني "اقتل أحبابك"؟

"اقتل أحبابك" هي جملة تُستخدم بالأدب، والمقصود فيها إنك أحيانًا لازم تتخلّى عن فقرة أو نص بتحبّه، حتى لو كان من أكثر الأشياء القريبة لقلبك، بس ما بيدعم الصورة العامة أو السياق. الاستغناء عنه بيساعد النص أو القصة تظل متماسكة ومتناسقة.

ليش "اقتل أحبابك"؟
في مشاريع كنت مستنيها تاخد لحظتها، بين 2021 و2024، لكن وجودها خلاني أظل أستنى "الفرصة المناسبة" لتشوف النور. فكان عندي خيارين: يا إما أقتلها وأخفيها، أو أقتلها بمعنى أطلقها للعالم. واخترت أطلقها من خلال ألبومين: اقتل أحبابك 1 و اقتل أحبابك 2.

ليش هلأ؟
الوضع الحالي صعب، والفرص نادرة، خصوصًا بالوطن. بس بما إن الفرصة مش جايّة، قررت أخلقها بنفسي.

إيمتى راح تقتل أحبابك؟
بتاريخ 14-11 راح يصدر الألبوم المصغّر الأول، وبيمثّل المرحلة الأولى مجموعة أغاني اشتغلتها على ألحان ما كانت معمولة خصيصًا إلي.
أما 26-12 فراح ينزل الجزء الثاني، وبيضم تعاونات بيني وبين منتجين موسيقيين من الوطن العربي اشتغلنا عليها بنفس الفترة.


What does “Kill Your Darlings” mean?
“Kill Your Darlings” is a phrase used in literature it means that sometimes, you have to let go of a paragraph, a scene, or a part you love, if it doesn’t serve the bigger picture. You cut it out to keep the story, or the characters, consistent and true.

Why Kill Your Darlings?
There were certain projects I kept waiting for the “right moment” to release between 2021 and 2024. But holding onto them made me stuck, always waiting for that perfect timing that never came. So, the choice was either to kill them by hiding them forever… or to kill them by letting them go by releasing them.
That’s what I did with the two EPs: Kill Your Darlings I and Kill Your Darlings II.

Why now?
Because waiting for the right moment doesn’t work anymore especially here, where things rarely line up the way you want. It’s been long enough. If the opportunity won’t come, then it’s on us to create it.

When will you “kill your darlings”?
On November 14th, the first EP drops it represents the first phase: a collection of songs made over melodies that weren’t originally created for me. (type beats)
Then on December 26th, the second part comes out a set of collaborations with music producers from across the Arab world, all made during the same period.
