In this sermon, based on Acts 2:1-21, Pastor Scott explores the story of Pentecost as the Holy Spirit arrives and empowers the earliest Christian Church.  He explores the original language connection between Spirit and Wind, as well as the disruptive way that both wind and the Spirit take action.

In this sermon, based on Luke 8:21-39, Pastor Scott explores the story of Jesus casting out Legion, and the way that the man's life is changed.  From there he switches into the call that we have as followers of Jesus to share the gospel with others.  This is the assigned gospel text for Sunday June 22nd, the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost.

In this sermon, based on Galatians 5:1, 13-25, Pastor Scott explores the listing of the fruits of the Holy Spirit and how they inform and reveal the presence of faith in our lives within the interactions we have with one another.

Sometimes we are called to listen and sometimes we are called to get to work. Both are valid.  This is the assigned gospel text for Sunday July 20th, the 6th Sunday after Pentecost. 

Sermon: Mary and Martha 7-20-25

In this sermon, based on Ecclesiastes 3, Pastor Scott offers his final sermon as the pastor of Underwood Lutheran Church before moving on to serve as Bishop of the Western Iowa Synod. He looks back over 12 years of ministry and encourages the congregation to keep going.
