PUPPET STRINGS & SILICON DREAMS

BLESSINGS is yeguachita's 2nd EP following their debut EP desvelo. in 2023. This 5-track project, funded by YouthMusic's NextGen Fund, showcases yeguachita's foray into experimental sample-based production, more intricate lyricism in both Spanish and English, and vulnerable subject matter.

The EP is an exploration of the struggles of modern-day artists in a hostile political climate and trying to heal in an environment that discourages this. Indeed, the project was written, developed, recorded, and produced by yeguachita in the midst of a lengthy court case fighting back against an unjust eviction.

"I've always tried to be someone who fights back against injustice, even when the cards are stacked against us. Going through this eviction was painful and traumatic but I also learned through this that hope is necessary for victory. That is how we beat the eviction and that is central feeling I wanted to convey through the music." - yeguachita
