So Bad

Eyes unlit, abandoned. Decaying...
The lighthouses along my soul's shore.
The silence, roaring as a river does, furious and consuming,
the suffocation, to taste the air again.
I bleed, not blood, but lukewarm memories.
And as I leak from the punctured fabric of my soul, I strain to look up at an observing, cold grey curious moon.
This moment, this lapse of reason, the heaviest of absences being felt.
Regret as gravity, bound by the invisible, all the while yearning for the burning the comets offered.
Drifting now, perhaps as intended, lived a life pretended, no wonder from what's under, I find myself scared, many near collisions caused,.
I pass by with closed eyes and beg to crash into an unsuspecting star.
Suddenly, as it so often seems, I feel the loss of her magic, a tragic static, and the panic is back.
This pain is bathed in absence, in that the feeling is so familiar,
the poison is sweeter, no hesitation, as if to quench a thirst I never knew I had.
No sand to hold in my hand, I stare down to my feet where it has all fallen.
I pass by with closed eyes and beg to crash into an unsuspecting star.
This drive could be the last, unheard laughs drown out the memories,
accelerate, trying to race the clouds home.
The night greets me in the streets; I retaliate with high beams and a grown man's screams....
This is the long way it seems, as we are now riding on fumes and the many lies the soul consumed...
The ride goes until the soul folds, and as the radio goes silent and the speakers crackle no more, I put my foot to the pedal and give the road a little more.
I pass by with closed eyes and beg to crash into an unsuspecting star.
Windows down, engine hot, the air begins to change just as the static on the radio arrives...
This road to nowhere is everywhere I have ever wanted to go.
This drive could be the last, unheard laughs drown out the memories,
