Auf den Nebenjob in einem Ingenieurbüro folgte eine Bewerbung bei einer Firma für Kanalsanierung.

„Ich hatte keine Ahnung, was der da erzählt“, sagt Silke Vengels über ihr damaliges Vorstellungsgespräch, aber sie hat die Herausforderung angenommen.

Und wechselte vor einigen Jahren als Referentin für Infrastruktursanierung und Kanalmanagement zur Deutschen Bahn. Dort ist sie als Gesamtprojektleitung für die Region West und das 3-Stufen-Kanalprogramm verantwortlich.

Warum ihr die Fortbildung „Zertifizierter Kanalsanierungsberater“ mehrmals hilfreich war, welche Zweifel sie lange mit dem Abschluss Geographie herumtrug und weshalb sie sich heute angekommen fühlt, das erzählt sie in der neuen NA 6/99-Folge.
