Yes, all the cliché quotes for new years are totally relevant to what you are about to read.

As we embark onwards of our 5th full year of running at Dirtbox Recordings we embark on, what can only be described as the most intuitive and ballsy project to date.

January 1st see’s the Tape Pack Series unfold with Part 1 headed by Neurofunk producer `The Fi5th` and Part 2 headed one of our new filthy favourites `Shayper` In this project what you can expect to see is a series of releases spanning 12 months.

Both artists will be dropping a single, on the 1st of every month on our side project to Dirtbox no matter what day that is.

This is first of all to create consistency for these artists on their release schedule, making sure both have monthly music out while also letting the audience know exactly when to expect the next.

The releases are ready to go now with all work within the background completed and waiting for each release to land on stores.

Additionally to this both artists are receiving a much higher cut than a usual label split while additionally we have managed to cut the majority of costs for the release to help push a lot more revenue through to the artist.

Very recently Spotify have decided to not pay for tracks streaming less than 1000 streams per year, in which from then that revenue generated will be spread out to tracks that do.

A very poor situation for producers and labels a like. But to counter this we are working closely with the artists to make sure their accounts on Spotify help to create a better chance to obtain streams through their updated profiles. consistent music released to incur additional playlist consideration.

We are here. The most monumental landmark in the label's history alongside the second largest landmark in its history all in the same month.

2024 we are celebrating 5 years since the labels inception, something we are exceptionally proud of that has included not only 50 general releases but now 6 compilations from 160 artists providing us 158 tracks since mid 2018.

Thank you to everyone supporting this on one of our most crowning achievements, The artists. The people buying and streaming the music and the people behind the scenes who truly are the backbone of this label alongside the artists in getting things done.

And 5 years brings us 50 releases, a 4 part EP series focusing on some of the best tracks from our back catalogue remixed to perfection by some hugely talented artists.

These EPs will culminate into a huge 26 track album of past, present and future remixes that includes 20 exclusive (Until now) unheard of remixes for the masses.

Our 2nd of 4 Album samplers bring in a host of talent debuting on the label with a much more jump-up/bouncier bunch of remixes for your listening pleasure.

1/ Dropset- Dark Tower (Glitch City Remix)

Back in 2022 we were super excited to include and debut US producer Dropset on the label who brought to us 2 huge Neurofunk DNB bangers that went on to be 2 of the most downloaded and streamed tracks on the label to date. Even now the originals do some serious damage.

“Hold my beer” In walks one of our favourite names in the business. and highly established artist `Glitch City` who’s previous work speaks for itself. 

Sam has gone the route of stripping away the `tear out` on this one and in its place a grumbling, nasty roller with the sharpest edges you’ve ever heard.

Another hit on the cards? I think so.

2/ Beskar- Mount Arakeirkos (Konetix Remix)

Bubbling in the underbelly of the UK Jump-Up scene is a bunch of producers carving themselves a huge future career in the sounds of Drum & Bass. Leading that chart alongside his peers is London’s own “Konetix” who is quickly becoming a `go to` producer and DJ for the sound.

Recent collaborations with the likes of Phantasy, DRS & P Money have catapulted Ben to the forefront of DNB with an upcoming room hosted by his own brand Melted Face Records at the future SASASAS residency at XOYO london.

Bens Remix of the classic Beskar track on Dirtbox takes the Star-wars elements to the extreme with a superb Dance Floor screecher. 

Additional drum solo drops on this one give it a new lease of light and urgency like never before. This one does not dissapoint.

3/ Lee UHF & Rogue- The Music (L3MMY DUBZ Remix)

Label owner Lee UHF teamed up with producer Rogue back in 2019 to bring a new lease of life to the old skool hardcore anthem “Music So Wonderful” 3 remixes later and we let the one and only L3MMY DUBZ take the head control on this one with probably the most vocals he's ever used on his belgium influenced DNB productions.

What transpired is the filthiest track you’re ever going to hear in 2023

This remix turns everything on its head and throws all the rules out the window. Only for the headstrong but a true nan slapper if we ever heard one.

Dirtbox Recordings is proud to unveil the latest instalment in our From Russia With Love series, a project dedicated to spotlighting some of the most exciting and innovative producers emerging from Russia’s ever-evolving electronic music scene. 

This time, we welcome Moscow-born drum and bass prodigy @FadeDuster to the family.

Born Timofey, though his friends know him as Tim. Fade Duster’s love affair with music began early. At just 12 years old, he found inspiration in the electrifying sounds of Scooter and The Prodigy, a spark that soon led him to explore the darker, deeper tones of dubstep. 

A turning point came when he discovered his brother’s music collection and decided to tune into a podcast hosted by Russian drum and bass legend Bes. That moment ignited a passion for drum and bass that has only intensified since. Over the years, Fade Duster has carved a reputation for himself as one of Russia’s most forward-thinking producers, with a catalogue that includes standout releases on respected imprints like Neuropunk and Paperfunk. 

His style is marked by intricate sound design, raw energy, and a deep understanding of the genre’s roots and future directions.

After keeping a close ear on Fade Duster’s output over the past year, we knew we had to bring him into the Dirtbox family. His music doesn’t just hit hard, it tells stories, pushes boundaries, and reflects the depth of talent that continues to emerge from Russia’s underground.

This release is more than just music; it’s a celebration of Fade Duster’s journey and a glimpse into the next wave of global drum and bass.

The label was established in 2018 as a means to release the back catalogue of renowned Jungle Techno label Underdog Recordings, which ran from 1993-1995. It quickly expanded from beyond the original goal and now reissues sought after, rare and classic records from the Jungle, Rave, Bleep House, Techno and Jungle Techno genres.

The Vinyl Fanatiks aim is to track down and work with the original artists from the early 1990’s, to reissue their music on vinyl only, and to support the record hunters and vinyl diggers from around the world with quality pressings and superb mastering; a way to show respect and share the story of those that created these incredible records.

The vision is not to focus on the obvious artists of that time but to dig a little deeper and find those that came and went but their legacy still holds true to this day. Some of these producers only released one record and vanished soon after but their music still resonates into the 21st century, accumulating new audiences across the globe, far beyond the catchment of the UK pirate radios and muddy fields of 25 years ago. What happened to these artists? Its Vinyl Fanatik’s mission to find out!

Each record captures a moment in time, a vibe that was true and innocent from a period when music was far more synonymous with rebellion and anarchy than today’s finely polished productions and conformist club pop. This music itself bred on the outskirts of society, fuelled by the passion of the rave, its lineage stemming from the Acid House era of 1988. Often produced on minimal equipment, with minimal skills and knowledge, its audio blueprint transcends to new generations, a rawness that no expensive audio plug in could ever create in this present day.

Vinyl Fanatiks wants to pay homage to these young producers who forged the foundations of the multi-million pound EDM scene we have now. Each of these artists has their own tale to tell, their own memories to share. Limited by their own geographical status within the UK, they somehow still all managed to connect and influence each other, years before the internet, mobile phones and social media that we have today. But the music knew no limits and had no boundaries, transcending generations to this day.
