I remember a festival that I played where met a woman who told me that I give her "Suge Knight vibes". I wasn't offended in the slightest but I pretended like I was in a friendly effort to get her to explain herself. I thought that her assessment was interesting at the time.

Another time when I was driving to Vermont for a solo performance, I thought heavily about that experience and decided to write this song to capture it.

The chords are very drone-like with a strange rhythm that feels like it shouldn't be that way.
The drum groove sets everything into its right place while the lyrics have a dark undertone to them, creating a vibe worthy of being called "Sixes"

“Yes. I think the main moment for me, there were many, but I think the main moment for me was when I decided that wasn’t going to chase being a trumpet player……alone. And you know, I started playing around with other instruments just learning how to write because I really wanted to write music. And so my brother was playing saxophone and he didn’t to do it anymore so I ended up getting his saxophone and I was like “I’m gonna learn how to play it””

Our show is exactly what the title implies--it's a show about "The Good Life." Every week on Smokin' & Toastin', Ian Barry and Cruze taste and talk about craft beers, distinctive distilled spirits and fine cigars. Ian and Cruze approach these classic diversions with the passion and curiosity of two semi-normal guys on an adventurous path of discovery and knowledge. Tennishu is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and MC based in Richmond, VA. As a member of the genre-defying band Butcher Brown since 2017, he brings a distinct voice to the group’s fusion of jazz, hip-hop, soul, and funk. Whether performing on saxophone, trumpet, or crafting tracks behind the scenes, his work is rooted in rhythm, intention, and movement.

His latest solo album, More Of The Story, showcases that approach in full form. Entirely self-produced, the project weaves live instrumentation with groove-forward production to create an immersive sonic experience. From high-energy cuts to more meditative moments, the album reflects a mindset of growth, clarity, and artistic purpose—inviting listeners into a sound that is both personal and expansive.
