IDM / industrial techno mix for Art Of Beats 01/12/23

Cleo (ZombieCleo) is Undyne, and this is their boss theme. You have a shield to use to block the arrows being thrown at you, but Cleo also uses fire quite frequently being a pyromaniac. Thus making it like a mix of the UT Yellow Axis (as you can move around on the bottom) and Toriel/Asgore battle. To spare them you must first FIGHT to break their shield, and then ACT successively in order to convince them to stop fighting. To kill Cleo...same thing without the acting. Though, you can't bring them down below 1 HP manually as they are undead...you have to reflect one of their fire projectiles back at them to deal the killing blow (they'll be marked in red if you can do so.)

At two points during her fight, Cleo will spawn regular zombies into the fray, which you have to get rid of (FIGHTing causes them to flee instead of die, and using mercy does the same thing as normal). There is also one final time close to the end (if Cleo is about to be spared, or has 1/4 of their HP left) where they will spawn much stronger and harder to defeat Zombies, which you don't see again until the CORE replacement.

Cleo has their much more recognizable Limited Life/Secret Life clothings when not armored like this. Don't ask how a femur bone got into their skull, though. (Currently trying to update the pronouns in all of the descs; Character!Cleo has now been decided to be an AFAB Non-binary. That way there's not as much conflict. (note 2: nvm they're she/they lmao))

(Resiliencia) Resilience is defined as the resistance of human beings to face and resist extreme and traumatic situations. The Valencian people, and many of us who have unfortunately experienced first-hand the devastation of nature in our homes, or in those of our closest relatives, have known the pros and cons of the meaning of resilience.

Industrial Complexx coordinates the release of a compilation album in which different artists and labels collaborate, such as Faith Disciplines, Soil Records, Subsist Records, HC Records, Fill-Lex Records, Unknown Pleasures Records or Banshees Records. The intention of this reference is to raise funds to help the NGO Algemesí Solidari (www.algemesisolidari.org). This is an organisation that acts directly in the towns most affected by the recent floods that hit Valencia.

This compilation will be active until this situation is resolved and the NGO, or any other, no longer needs any kind of financial support for this cause. It is an album that compiles a large amount of tracks, and with styles ranging from industrial to experimental, electronica, EBM, power electronics, dark ambient, post-punk, cold wave, dark wave...

As a Valencian project, like many of those who have contributed to this release, we feel deeply overwhelmed by all the expressions of affection received and by the willingness of many artists to support this cause, and we feel the need to help our fellow countrymen as much as possible.

PREMIERE: Soj & Years of Denial - Our Chemical Love [Soil Records, Industrial Complexx]

2024 felt like a bad dream, even shittier than the one before. When my mum got taken into care in 2023 it was like her worst nightmare finally  coming true, and there was nothing I could do about it. Then my wee brothers illnesses and self-blame took him away. Damage was done when he woke up next to one of his best pals dead a couple years before, even tho he managed to convince the people that initially blamed him otherwise (the same people that made me n mum have to leave her home the first time) I don't think he ever got round to forgiving himself (i don't think it was anything to do w him, they were on different trips and what happened could have happened to most anyone and we are def all lucky it hasn't happened more to all of us). 

2024 just kept swinging between horror and defiant bursts of joy, il be damned if I can't use something as an excuse for a silver lining. For every moment of peace and happiness there was something else upsetting, and that's not even getting into world events, which I know weigh heavy over all of us. It's like that bad dream we all woke up to in 2020 keeps shifting the goalposts and saying 'ha, you thought I was gone, wait til you see this!' And I have no doubt 25 will have it's cards up its sleeve ready to play just when we get complacent. 

So here's another of those grim grotty but hopefully cathartic mixes to flush out the negative energy a bit. I'm gonna keep pushing this year to be more creative, more helpful, more present and hopefully I won't have to do another one this time next year . . .

Cleo (ZombieCleo) is Undyne, which is to be expected. Especially since her boss motif is the exact same as in BTWB1. After hiding themselves away in the shadows, they finally confront you at the end of the Scarlet Forest. They don't really want to fight you, atleast not as much as Undyne does (well, as long as you're on pacifist. In neutral...it's a different story), mainly due to their own lack of confidence in their fighting skill. 

The soul changes being more akin to Undertale Yellow are more pronounced here, since this is just green soul mode +, despite it just being the blue soul. Cyan projectiles will move along with the soul (you can move the soul to dodge certain attacks along a 3x3 space). Lots of arson occurs in this fight, obviously, and despite what I said above, this fight's probably a tad harder than Undyne's (since the difficulty in BTWB is tuned quite upwards compared to Undertale), so you'll probably get more variations of the flaming, cyan-colored projectiles.

And thus concludes the Scarlet Forest arc! I can't believe we've made it this far already. Of course, four more main arcs remain...but we're just under halfway through Behind the World Border II. And of course, in the next arc, things will get quite...
