Speech to Text, la transcription audio, le cher et le gratuit
Il existe des dizaines et des dizaines d’applications sur smartphone ou de web apps pour faire de la transcription audio. J’ai décidé de faire un petit test ce matin avec un enregistrement réalisé hier.

Je vous plante le décor : j’animais une session de speedmeeting avec une quarantaine de chefs d’entreprises. Il y avait quatre tours de table, donc tout le monde ne pouvait pas rencontrer tout le monde. J’ai donc demandé à une personne par table d’enregistrer le troisième tour de table. L’idée était de récupérer tous les audios pour en faire une synthèse écrite et la partager avec tous les participants. On parle donc ici d’un son enregistré sur un smartphone dans une pièce bruyante.


J’ai pris une présentation de 2 minutes et je l’ai soumise à six outils de transcription audio : Amberscript, Descript, Sonix, Trint, Maestra et YouTube. Pour un audio de 2 minutes, ça prend seulement quelques minutes pour obtenir la version finale.
Amberscript ? On oublie avant même de commencer. Ils te proposent d'essayer gratuitement, tu peux importer ton fichier, mais pour l'exporter, il faut payer un forfait d'une heure. Franchement, je trouve ça dingue de ne pas pouvoir vraiment tester.
Mais pour les autres, j’ai ensuite, j’ai donné à ChatGPT la retranscription exacte et toutes celles produites par ces outils pour qu'il fasse une analyse comparative.
Trint est présenté comme l'outil des journalistes. On arrive à environ 70 % d’exactitude, mais il a du mal avec les noms et la ponctuation n’est pas parfaite. L’interface permet cependant de corriger certains aspects.

Sonix, c’est un autre niveau. On est à 90 % d’exactitude, les noms et prénoms sont bien reconnus, et le texte est très bien structuré. L’interface est très complète : tu peux faire des résumés, chercher les sujets forts, et tu as même un indicateur de confiance dans la retranscription. Il te signale quand il a rencontré des difficultés.
Descript est pas mal non plus. Il faut installer le logiciel sur ton ordinateur, mais globalement, c’est efficace. De plus, l’application te permet de nettoyer la bande-son et de créer des clips à partir des points forts de la transcription.
Enfin, Maestro. Par rapport aux autres, c’est juste un peu plus bof.
En résumé, Sonix et Descript sont de super produits, c’est vrai. Mais si tu regardes les tarifs, ça fait un peu mal : Sonix, c’est 10 euros par heure, et Descript, 19 euros par mois pour 10 heures. Clairement, entre les deux, je penche pour Descript.

Cela dit, si tu veux juste une retranscription parfaite, c’est l’idéal. Mais si tu cherches simplement à obtenir une synthèse des informations clés, et que la ponctuation t’importe peu, il existe des outils gratuits pour ça. Alors, ça demande un peu plus de manipulations, mais l’avantage, c’est que tu n’es pas limité.

La version gratuite ? Importer ton audio sur YouTube, CapCut ou Premiere Pro, qui génèrent automatiquement des sous-titres. Certes, il n’y a pas de ponctuation et il peut y avoir quelques erreurs, mais quand tu soumets ça à ChatGPT pour en faire une synthèse, lui se fiche de la ponctuation et va droit à l’essentiel. Et franchement, ça marche très bien.
Bref, tout dépend de vos besoins, mais clairement, il y a un temps précieux à gagner. Ça vaut donc le coup d’en perdre un peu pour tous les essayer et faire votre choix en fonction des fonctionnalités. Vous trouverez forcément chaussure à votre pied.
