It’s always there…  Always unkind
Always Hidden… Stalking your mind
A Constant distraction… Constantly defies
That constant irritant… That mote in your eye

In dreams it waits…  Dreams with no end
Dreams that haunt… You can’t apprehend
That fear you know… The fear you believe
A fear of what’s next… That never leaves

There’s no point complaining or trying to explain
I can’t escape the torment, shelter from this reign   
It’s not like I haven’t tried, or pretended not to care
But I can’t avoid myself, it’s always there

It’s how I see… And how I react
How I think… Helpless to adapt
A nagging within…  Twisting my soul
Angst and unease… Beyond my control

Sometimes… I can’t let it go
