"The Ballad Of Wallis Island" had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for its heartwarming story written by its two leads, Tom Basden and Tim Key, lovable performances and music. Co-starring Academy Award-nominee Carey Mulligan, the independent UK film later screened at the SXSW Film Festival, which is where this interview took place. Director James Griffiths, Basen, and Key were all kind enough to spend some time speaking with us during the festival about their work on the film, which you can listen to below. Singer, songwriter, guitar player who just released a new single less than two weeks ago after having put out another in early February.  His music has charted in over 50 countries on iTunes, and he earned a spot at number 13 on SiriusXM’s The Pulse weekly countdown.  His songs have spent 20 weeks in the Top 40 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart.  He has also had major brand placements with the likes of Ralph Lauren, Busch Gardens, and DraftKings.  His top five songs on Spotify alone have achieved a combined total of more than 2.1 million streams and along the way he saw a 112% boost in Shazams.  Based in Nashville, he just performed at South By Southwest last month and has even been featured in People Magazine and Rolling Stone India.

Viva Sounds 2024 – INDIE US: How To Navigate A Corporate Market

Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and founder of Austin, Texas-based Alt-Rock band Arctic Wave, who have been releasing lots of new music in the first months of this year.  Having worked with a GRAMMY-winning producer, the band just last week released a new music video.  He is also the founder of a nonprofit, serves on the board of a different nonprofit, and helps fund education programs through his church.  The band’s top five songs on Spotify alone have a combined total of approximately 328 thousand streams and their official YouTube channel has well over 200 thousand combined video views.

Austin, Texas-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, model, actress, and even a painter and photographer!  She is finishing up an album project while also navigating a Monday night open mic residency and numerous other initiatives.  She is known for her performances with the Guy Forsyth Band, the Hot Nut Riveters, and the Honeysuckle Rage Riders.  Among the various projects she’s involved with is the Harmony Sisters, which is a group for females that work within the Austin and surrounding areas music industry.  She also serves as Community Leader for an organization called Austin Texas Musicians, consisting of musicians advocating for musicians on city, state, and federal policy and providing education and opportunities to improve their quality of life.  She is also putting together Musician Market Days, which starts next month.
