ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE MIXES IS HERE. I CANT LOSE YOU ft ILLENIUM DABIN CULTURE CODE NURKO IS a mix i put my absolute heart and soul into. Thee meaning of this mix is so incredibly deep and special to me. So much of it can be thought about being unable to lose someone else a partner, a lover, a friend and it is. But even deeper is not losing yourself. Its not here to spew some "it always gets better' rhetoric but rather "it could get better, and you OWE it to yourself to not let yourself go yet”. The mashup I made with When the Magic Dies & ICU at 47:22 captures the meaning of the whole mix. The female vocals that says "Don't you let me go because we've come this far" is begging you to not give up on yourself because of you've come so far. The male vocals "you've been hurting in a million ways no one else can see" acknowledge all the unspoken pain you've had to endure to still be here, be breathing, trying to get through another day of hell. His vocals offer a level of understanding for your suffering that maybe no one else ever has. If there is one message I have for the world, to YOU READING this right now (yeah Im speaking to YOU) IS TO JUST hold on A LITTLE Longer, to use mixes like these to remember you ARE SO WORTH THIS FIGHT and making it to tomorrow. This is the most personal song I've ever written. It's about betrayal and the gut wrenching emptiness that follows. It's about a desperate cry for help and a helpless cling to the past. It's about isolation and the existential dread that comes with it. It's about the tangled web of emotions that your own head weaves when it can't possibly accept what's real. It's about your own thoughts holding you awake at night, haunting you, no matter how hard you try to fight. It's about blaming yourself for things you don't understand. It's about being your own demon. Sleep Paralysis serves as a catalyst of my emotions and anybody who's felt what I feel. I hope those who relate can resonate with this song and find healing, and I hope those who don't can appreciate it for what it is and find a way to make it their own.
