It’s been called the cybersecurity poverty line. Many organizations just don’t have the money to afford a skilled cybersecurity team to protect themselves from hackers. But there’s a movement afoot to change that dynamic through cybersecurity clinics that can support organizations in need. The Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity at the University of California, Berkeley, is at the forefront of developing cyber clinics and its executive director, Ann Cleveland, talks about the center’s approach with Safe Mode host Mike Farrell. CyberScoop senior editor Elias Groll also joins the show to discuss his recent trip to DEF CON where he witnessed hackers competing to outsmart AI models as well as a parade of furries.

Give_Way is the full power, psychedelic trance, DJ project engineered by Max Quinn (FNQ, Australia).

His musical journey began at a young age, in primary school, when he played the saxophone in the school swing band with his friend Alfred. In high school, Give_Way discovered an almighty love for the "Core" genres of heavy metal. This is where the true passion for music started to develop.  

In the following years, Give_Way was introduced to Progressive and Psychedelic Trance by his childhood friend Alfred. Fascinated by this  intelligent dance music, Give_Way started to explore parties and festivals. He quickly began to notice a feeling building within his chest. A burning desire, to be completely involved with this mind bending music. Obsessed, he quickly learnt the basics of beatmatching with the guidance of a few close friends. From there, and without looking back, Give_Way threw himself headfirst, all in to this sonic voyage. 

11 years on and Give_Way is a household name at events in Far North Queensland. This decade of hard work and consistency has seen him perform on stages by the likes of NYX Festival, Zero DB Festival, Orin-Aya Festival and Collaborations Festival to name a few, along with making the lineup for the cancelled Esoteric 2025. Give_Way has had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the global psytrance community such as Captain Hook, X-Noise, Scorb, Sonic Entity, Imaginarium, Pixel, Headroom, Zyce and many more.

Give_Way has developed a unique sound and mixing style, drawing heavy influence from his metal roots. Driving Basslines, ethereal melodies, intricate percussion and seamless transitions come together to deliver nothing short of a full power, time dissolving, immersive experience designed to ferry users across expansive and colourful soundscapes.
