- Some virtues of the Mother of the Believers ‘Ā’ishah b. Abī Bakr (رضى الله عنهما) with supporting narrations: 
- 1. Allāh chose her to be the wife of the Messenger ﷺ.  
- 2. She is the wife of the Messenger ﷺ in this life and in the hereafter. 
- 3. Jibrīl (عليه السلام) would give salāms to her through the Messenger ﷺ. 
- 4. Revelation would come down in her house.
- 5. The love the Messenger ﷺ had for her. 
- 6. The obligation to have love for her. 
- 7. She was the only virgin the Messenger ﷺ married. 
- 8. The Messenger ﷺ gave witness regarding her elevated station and purity. 
- 9. She is from the inhabitants of Paradise.
- 10. The Messenger ﷺ loved to be in the house of ‘Ā’ishah when he became sick. 
- 11. The Messenger’s soul ﷺ was taken in her home and he was buried in her home.
- 12. The Messenger ﷺ bore witness that she was indeed a good and righteous woman [when accusation were made against her]. 
- 13. Allāh was the one who declared her innocence.  

Text of the ḥadīth:

عَنْ أمِّ المُؤمِنينَ [أمِّ عبْدِ اللهِ عائشةَ] رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهَا قالَتْ: قالَ رسولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا هَذَا مَا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَهُوَ رَدٌّ. رواه البخاريُّ ومسلمٌ. وفي روايةٍ لمسلمٍ: مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلاً لَيْسَ عَلَيهِ أَمْرُنا فَهُوَ رَدٌّ

From the Mother of the Believers, Umm ‘Abdillāh ‘Āʾishah who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, "Whoever introduces something into this affair of ours that is not from it will have it rejected." And in the narration of Muslim, "Whoever does an action that is not from our affair will have it rejected." [Related by al-Bukhārī and Muslim]

[23/01/2025 - Lesson Eighteen] The Conditions, Pillars & Requirements of the Prayer.

- The Pillars of the prayer are fourteen:

– The first two pillars that are covered during this lesson:
1. First Pillar: Standing, if one has the ability to do so.
2. Second Pillar: The Opening Takbeer.

The First Pillar: Standing, if one has the ability to do so.

– {Stand before your Lord in obedience}

Explanation Shaykh Abdul Muhsin Al-Abād:
– The obligation to stand in the obligatory prayers if you are able. 
– How one should pray if one is not able to stand.
– What one should do in the non-obligatory prayers in regard to standing/ sitting and the rewards connected to this.
– The prayer of the sick person.
– The reward for the standing person compared to the sitting person and compared to the person lying down in the prayer, depending on the ability and whether the prayer is obligatory or not.

Explanation of Shaykh Muhammad Amān al-Jāmi:
– The way a person who is incapacitated should pray.
– The obligation of the prayer in whatever condition the slave is in.
– The state of the person that abandons the prayer.
– What does standing in the prayer necessitate.
– A discussion around the actual meaning of what ‘standing’ in the prayer means. A mention of the spine and standing up straight.

The Second pillar: The Opening Takbīr.

Explanation Shaykh Abdul Muhsin:
– The reason why it is called the Takbīr ul-Ihrām
– A common mistake during the congregational prayer.
– The correct wording of the Takbīr - الله أكبر 
– The Shafi’i school of thought holds the permissibility of saying الله الاكبر for the Takbīr ul-Ihrām - with the addition of alif and laam.
– The Hanafi school of thought holds that the prayer can be enterted with other than the Takbīr ul-Ihrām.
– The majority of the scholars hold the Takbīr ul-Ihrām is الله اكبر.
– A proof of the above is the Hadīth of the Prophet ﷺ ‘Pray as you have seen me praying.’
