Off the back of a deeply inspiring trip immersed in the beauty of Lanzarote, @christophesalin returns with his newest LP - a softly spoken yet emphatic record that speaks of landscape, sun, sea and the finer things in the rich tapestry of life….

Ever since his first exposure to House music in the 90s, Salin has thrown himself into producing, DJing and all facets of hardware discovery. His initial work on white labels and edits blossomed into the formation of Salin Records, which he has used as an outlet for his recent creative expressions. His sound is firmly established in house traditions, with expert groove lines and melodic sequences being utilized to full effect, but it is his love of equipment which has continued to fuel his desire to explore his sound to the fullest. His tunes are fun, fresh and emotive, bringing together the very best of the genre, with his own personal twist on things riding front and centre throughout his enriching discography.

Whilst Salin draws deeply from house music, his new record ‘Ocean & Cliffs’ draws as deeply from a new source of inspiration - the island of Lanzarote. Following walks through the island’s captivating and dynamic landscapes, Salin was drawn almost to the ‘nothingness’ of space, its quiet and peaceful charm, and as a result, he began work on the bones of ‘Ocean & Cliffs’. When moving through the record there is a sense of Lanzarote’s influence being discovered everywhere - as if turning over rocks on the ground, sifting through sand on the beach, hearing the breeze in the palm trees. There is a soothing energy that can, in many ways, only really be found in nature, where someone is to fully embrace this state of mind and create music based upon these feelings. His new LP has a very natural energy to it, filled with rhythms that echo footsteps through the hills and the notion of being in a space much bigger than a human sense of scale - and that is the beauty of it all, isn’t it?

‘Famara’ slides into view next, and this one has a heavier feel to it. The drums and bass do much to set the scene, with the keys that arrive just after having a deep set, rolling feeling - embracing and enveloping the landscapes in which it was inspired by.

For the imprint’s second release of the year, label head Christophe Salin delivers a trio of exquisite, glistening house tracks that, as always, traverse a wide range of emotive feelings and distinctive, joyful atmospheres…

Salin’s sound is one rooted in discovery, curiosity, and auditory narratives, with an eye always set on how his music can evolve from release to release. Looking back over his discography, there is always a story woven between the notes and beats, either taken from inspiring journeys or experiences, or simply through letting the music itself unravel a tome from deep within. His tunes always find space to grow and express themselves, leaping from the speakers with meaning and purpose. The house genre remains the closest to his heart, and through Salin’s abilities to convey complexity and nuance, he has always found new ways to surprise and entice within his ever-expanding sound.

Following up from the ‘Melodies and Harmonies’ EP from earlier this year, ‘Raw Stuff’ contains all of the motifs celebrated within Salin’s sound. This is perhaps Salin at his most introspective, as he looks deep within his sound, producing a heartfelt and emotional representation of his take on House music. ‘Let’s go deep’ opens up the EP with a rhythmically rich undercurrent. Melodic stabs, sharp vocal snippets and in-between keys flickers help to create a hypnotically subtle arrangement that blends power with emotion in the most harmonious of ways. ‘Keep It Up’ then comes into view, with the drums once again setting the scene. A soft, undulating key sequence then wraps itself around the percussion, representing a gentle whisper as the swirling feel is allowed plenty of time to ensnare the senses. Vocal samples add flavour up top, as the keys swell and shift with boundless energy - the breakdowns in particular allow for the soaking up and release of energy, which is presented effortlessly.

‘More than just the words’, unlike the preceding tracks, takes a slightly different approach to sound building. Growing more expansively, the track is distinctively stripped back, with soft, undulating pads and sound effects occupying the mid range, as the drums take more of a back seat. As a flipside to the first two numbers, it showcases Salin’s ability to switch up style and sound whilst still making the experience feel seamless, from one outlay to the next, without skipping a beat. Three radio edits are included of the original cuts, and to wrap things up, we have a live version of ‘More than just the words’. This version flips perspectives once again, with a steady drumming pattern creating a more progressive feel than the original, whilst preserving its delicately balanced melodic feel.

Salin’s music always has a way of delving into the heart of House music, and with ‘Raw Stuff’ there are plenty of evocative moments that tell of a story of expressionism and delight. The tracks presented a prime representation of his sound, one in which melodic interplay and balanced rhythm sections combine to create vivid and exciting atmospheres. So with that in mind, why not put this EP on, and lose yourself deep within its hypnotic, emotive energies.

PREMIERE: Christophe Salin - More Than Just The Words [SALIND009]

Christophe Salin returns with La Vérité, a deeply personal and emotionally rich EP that explores the concept of truth in all its complexity. With his signature blend of emotive house and narrative depth, the Salin Records founder crafts a sonic space where reflection meets rhythm.

Salin’s music has always been defined by context and storytelling. His productions are rich in atmosphere — vivid, spiritual, and emotionally resonant — with gently unfolding melodies and fluid rhythmic foundations. Stimulating both the ears and the heart, Salin hits the sweet spot between the danceable and the charmingly meaningful, where energy meets introspection and movement reveals memory. Salin’s fascination with the human experience and our perception of the world is what fuels his creative output. It’s this perspective that allows him to infuse his analogue-driven house music with a deep sense of emotion and narrative.

La Vérité — French for “truth” — sets out to examine just that: What does truth mean, and who defines it? From questions of belief and universal truth to the reliability of memory and personal conviction, Salin uses these themes as inspiration for the EP. The music itself embodies stylistically the musical feels and sounds of the early 2000s, and even through this Salin is questioning the truths - was it really as golden as we remember, or does selective memory take hold?

With Good On You, Salin shifts into steady four-to-the-floor rhythms, using the track to reflect on letting go of limiting thoughts and emotional weight. Here, Salin explores the idea of release — moving on from stagnant thought patterns and embracing renewal. Euphoric energy underpins the track, while shimmering vocals add emotional depth. The line “found my peace” stands out as a quietly affirming statement — a moment of clarity framed in movement.

The EP closes with the aptly titled Euphoria, a track that channels the purest energy house music has to offer. Its groove tightens around a triumphant melodic progression, where shimmering piano chords and sweeping synth pads intertwine with an uplifting vocal sample. The result is a deeply resonant, emotionally charged finale — a true peak moment that radiates warmth and lingers long after the last note. Here, Salin once again proves his rare ability to craft music that moves with both emotional depth and graceful precision.

The visual world of La Vérité mirrors the EP’s conceptual core. Created by Daria Salin using mixed media — including brush and gouache — the artwork is bold, expressive, and deeply symbolic. As a hand-crafted collage, it visually interrogates themes of truth, belief and deception. Like the music, it invites the viewer into a process of reflection and self-inquiry. Through its layered composition, it affirms the search for inner balance and peace — a visual counterpart to the emotional depth and narrative honesty of the EP.

La Vérité is a record full of questions, emotions, and subtle revelations. Some truths are shared, others are personal — many remain unanswered. But through a cohesive narrative and a deeply felt sound, Christophe Salin invites listeners into a reflective dance, where honesty and emotion meet in rhythm and resonance.
