LUCIAN is a trailblazer in Sydney’s Drum & Bass scene, emerging in the late 1990s as a leading figure known for his deep, atmospheric, and tech-driven sound. His dynamic DJ sets, characterized by fast-paced, layered, and precise mixing, have made him a crowd favourite. This reputation earned him the opportunity to support some of the genre's most influential names, including Calibre, Total Science, Bad Company, Marcus Intalex, Jubei, Commix, Aphrodite, Moving Fusion, Bailey, Ray Keith, J Majik, Friction, A Sides, Delicat, Ulterior Motive, and Patife.

For over two decades, LUCIAN has been promoting in Sydney, creating successful club nights like Sonic Fiction, United, Momentum, Joined at the Bass, and Airbourne. These nights helped solidify Sydney's Drum & Bass culture, ensuring the genre’s underground roots continued to thrive and evolve. This dedication led to successful tours across Australia’s East Coast, including Melbourne, Canberra, and Brisbane.

After focusing on family in recent years, LUCIAN has returned with a renewed passion for the dancefloor, exploring a range of new styles, including Techno, House, Garage, Leftfield, Hip Hop, and Down Tempo.

Just a complete amateur,  making some noise

Retropolis is the brain child of producer Sam White hailing from North West England, rooted in breakbeat with a love of piano, this project has grown and evolved into a bass driven monster.

Nominated in the International Breakspoll 2014, Best Breakthrough Producer category and a regular name in the Beatport Breaks Chart, Retropolis is making waves in the breaks community.

Having releases on US label For the Love of Breaks, Propaganda Music, Booty Trax, Warehouse Wax, The Pooty Club Records, Kode5 Recordings, Rave Style’e and others, there is plenty more to come.

The Retropolis dirty breaks style receives support from Sanxion, The Flashback Project, Vinyl Junkie, Kid Panel and KL2 to name a few.

Rated in DJ Mag at 8.5 on the Richter scale for the ‘Retropolis – I Said No EP’ , Funk and Filth blog described him as “Thundering onto the scene” and  “One of the stand out artists & DJ’s of the last 12 months.” Receiving acclaim both in the UK and internationally, with his old school style of rave-breaks, blended with electro and filthy basslines, Retropolis’ DJ sets are cross-genre monsters, filling dancefloors with serious bass faces.
