An extraordinary piece by one of the most brilliant rock bands in Sardinia, the Medicine Men, from Sassari. The band played from 1992 to 1995, making a record recently rediscovered from the archives and re-released after a modern remixing job from the original 1995 analogue masters. In My Dizzy Home is a rhythmic ballad, inspired by the English psychedelic mod of the late 60s, written by Silvio Vinci (organ, piano, mellotron, moog, and Horns arrangements), with lyrics by Stefano Sotgiu (lead vocals), and the precious rhythmic contribution of Marcello Meridda (drums) and Leonardo Carboni (bass), and finally, Luigi Cattani (on rhythm and lead guitar). This version is remastered with Logic Pro 11.

In My Dizzy Home (by Medicine Men) - Remastered 2024

The Medicine Men were a sensational example of the exciting Mediterranean mod rock revival of the 90s. Originally from Sassari (Sardinia), the Medicine Men (name inspired by a song by John Mayall, ed.) forged a sound where they merged in a chemistry of styles ranging from American psychedelia to late 60s British pop, from blues to progressive rock, triggering a tangle of vintage instruments that fearlessly lead back to the late 60s - early 70s. The M.M were Silvio Vinci (keyboardist, composer and arranger), Stefano Sotgiu (lead vocals, composer, lyricist, and rhythm guitar), Luigi Cattani (lead guitarist), Leonardo Carboni (bassist, composer), Marcello Meridda (drummer and composer). Roberta Usai (extraordinary vocalist) took part in the recording sessions. This version, remastered by Silvio Vinci, restores life and energy to one of the most vivid Sardinian musical realities of the time.

Stranger In This Land - by ^Medicine Men^   Remaster 2024

Ballad in E, original piece by Amanita, a seminal band from Sassari from the 90s, with the great voice of the late Samuele Marchisio, the guitar of Aldo Gallizzi, the keyboards of Silvio Vinci, and the rhythm section of Marco Olia and Marcello Meridda. This recording recovered from the archives of rare live concerts recorded with makeshift means, testifies to the innovative chemistry of the group's sound.

Un omaggio viscerale e pieno d’anima ai Beatles, nel cuore del underground sassarese.

I FACTORY (Mark I) rendono omaggio ai Beatles con una versione intensa e sentita di Don’t Let Me Down, eseguita dal vivo nel 2019 in un Bar Bistrot gremito, caldo, vibrante di musica e partecipazione.
La voce di Fabrizio Cherubini si muove su territori profondi, quasi imploranti, restituendo tutta la fragilità e la forza emotiva della versione lennoniana. Alla chitarra, ospite d’eccezione Giorgio Sale costruisce un fraseggio appassionato, elegante e al tempo stesso ruvido, con un suono pieno e rotondo che dà corpo all’intero arrangiamento.
Silvio Vinci alterna con maestria il timbro elettrico e caldo del Wurlitzer con la maestosità vibrante dell’Hammond, creando un tappeto armonico che oscilla tra soul, psych e gospel urbano, mentre la sezione ritmica con Chris Pain al basso e Luca Monaco alla batteria tiene insieme tutto con groove rotondo e sottile raffinatezza.
È una versione che non vuole stupire con virtuosismi, ma tocca corde profonde, sincera e rispettosa, eppure piena della personalità della band. Un ultimo sussurro collettivo della Mark I, che non ha mai suonato così vicina al cuore del pubblico come in quella notte.

Stormy Monday (Live al Bistrot di Sassari, Inverno 2019) – FACTORY

Tra le serate memorabili della FACTORY Mark I, quella dell’inverno 2019 al Bistrot di Sassari brilla di luce propria grazie a una versione maestosa di Stormy Monday, classico intramontabile del blues. La band lo affronta con rispetto e passione, ma anche con la consapevolezza di potergli dare nuova linfa. E ci riesce eccome.
Giorgio Sale è in stato di grazia: suona come se fosse in due, evocando con maestria sia la liricità di Duane Allman che l’agilità melodica di Dickey Betts. Il suo fraseggio è limpido, tagliente, espressivo. Preciso fino all’ossessione, ma mai freddo: è blues autentico, vissuto, sudato. Accanto a lui, Silvio Vinci tesse una trama sontuosa con il suo organo Hammond, che riempie ogni pausa, accompagna ogni respiro, costruisce l’ossatura emotiva del pezzo.
Fabrizio Cherubini si misura con un blues impegnativo, sia vocalmente che emotivamente. E lo fa con grande intensità: la sua voce è sofferta, scavata, piena di sfumature, capace di restituire tutta la malinconia e la dignità contenuta nel brano. E poi c’è la sezione ritmica: Chris Pain e Luca Monaco sono impeccabili nel gestire i tempi e le dinamiche, accompagnano con un groove sicuro nella prima parte per poi sorprendere tutti con un passaggio a tempo jazz, un intermezzo di altissimo livello tecnico e musicale che eleva il pezzo a una dimensione superiore.

Una delle migliori performance della FACTORY Mark I, senza dubbio. Una lezione di stile, emozione e padronanza musicale.
