"Black and Blue" is a 1929 jazz standard composed by Fats Waller with lyrics by Harry Brooks and Andy Razaf. I approached this song with a fair degree of trepidation because It is one of my ten all-time favourite songs and Louis Armstrong's monumental version, 1964 in Berlin.
