I wanted to start the new year with a bang, and while recently discovering that @section-63 is actually Blade from The Sect, it turned out I really was digging what he had been up to the last few years! Lots of his tunes in this show, plus some great new @d-struct and @kemal-crypticaudio as well. Definitely on the heaver rolling side this one. Enjoy!

Section 63 - Corrosive

After releasing a single on Insomnius Music in 2023, https://soundcloud.com/section-63 now returns with his first 4-track EP, ‘Corrosive,’ on the label. The producer stays true to his distinctive sound, delivering technoid-inspired drum & bass that is pushing forward with full force: intense, dark, and minimalist.
 
Section 63's futuristic, dark style has its roots in the breakbeat hardcore scene of the early '90s, heavily influenced by London’s pirate radio stations. As a co-founder of The Sect, he played a key role in shaping the techno-influenced drum & bass sound that dominated the 2000s. Today, the producer and DJ continues his musical journey as a solo artist, having established himself as a reliable creator of multi-layered, high-energy tracks, with releases on labels like Mute:8, Subtrakt, and VIA. With ‘Corrosive,’ he delivers a bold statement, perfectly capturing his vision of techstep.
 
The EP opens with ‘Obey,’ a driving track that generates an energetic vibe through relentless percussion and an intense atmosphere. The track transports listeners to a dystopian future where machines and humanity collide. ‘Synthetic’ follows with a minimalist, mechanical sound, crafted from distorted cymbals and synthetic elements, conjuring a cold, futuristic landscape reminiscent of a steel-built, high-tech metropolis. In ‘Corrosive,’ tension builds with an acid line and a psychedelic pattern, pulling the audience into a euphoric spiral–a journey of transformation and renewal. The final track, ‘Light Work,’ delivers a haunting, cinematic mood with eerie sound design and a driving bassline, creating a dark, cinematic atmosphere between hope and decay.
 
The EP immerses listeners in a futuristic sonic realm, where light and darkness seamlessly intertwine.

After getting some harder tunes in my inbox that I was digging, I figured it was time for a harder full throttle neuro mix - I bought a bunch of Finalfix, Agressor Bunx and Myselor tunes I didn't have yet and had a two hour uncompromising show! The first few tracks worked out a little less good than I had liked but after that it absolutely took off.. and the recording is now in 256kbit, just as Jungletrain is streaming at 256k now!

@future-signal recently returned from a long hiatus and released some tunes again for the first time in more than a decade, so I figured it was time to put the focus on their work! They came onto the scene around the time I stopped buying vinyls, in fact, Audio & Future Signal - Furyen on Subtitles was amongst the last vinyls I ever bought. With their peak years around 2011/2012, I always had a couple of their tunes from that era on rotation in my digital collection, but for this show I dug through the back catalogs and picked other contemporary tracks to match the theme. 24 out of 51 tracks in the mix are but Future Signal, close to 50%! The vibe worked out and it's a nice rolling classic neuro show. Enjoy!

Insomnius Music is a Hamburg-based music label, founded by Violet Core and Dr Woe in 2016.
