Another special show this week, featuring a more relaxed set of the music I played with @elisa for the special one year anniversary of a supper club called 926.1 (the distance from our location in London, to the Italian border).

Run by two good friends and incredible chefs, Giorgio Del Buono and Simone Sicchia, the idea behind the events are to create days and nights of incredible food, inspiring music and wonderful company, with all profits donated to Comitato Maria Letizia Vergia for the research towards the cure of childhood Leukaemia

Expect a unique set of music reflecting the point at which London and Italian culture overlaps, and inspired by the food, environment and people of the event itself. Blending vintage jazz, neo-classical, ambient electronica, house and deep techno, and featuring music from artists such as Joram Feitsma, Donny Hathaway, Amanda Whiting and Nu Guinea, through to Purling, Synkro, Daw Swindle and Alex Kassian.

A classically trained musician with a foundation in jazz and classical music, Asubu found his way into electronic music through hedonistic scene of 90’s London and followed it's progression through House, Techno, Drum and Bass, Electronica and everything in between.  This introduction and hunger for new sounds combined with his eclectic taste, informs his sound as a DJ.  His main aim being to lace together all the sounds he loves in a cohesive way to suit the time and environment, creating emotive sets of music, limited by nothing but quality, innovation and ultimately the desire for escapism through music. 

Asubu hosts Departures every Sunday night from 10pm until midnight on Select Radio, where he plays an eclectic live set of upfront electronic music, recent finds and other undiscovered favourites. Expect an emotive journey of innovative contemporary music, spanning everything from nu-jazz and classical to underground house, techno and electronica, and joining the dots in between.

Dark Heart is a recording label based in Brighton, UK, dedicated to the sound of Future Garage and Post-Dubstep music worldwide, with a little DNB and Breakbeat thrown in there too.
